My LG tv keeps turning on and changing channels at random. The picture is fine and everything is fine except for that. It works properly for a couple of hours but then it starts to change channels on it's own or if I am in an input it flashes "function not available now." If I turn it off and leave it plugged in, it turns itself on at random. If I unplug it and plug it back in, it works for a couple more hours but starts acting up again. I bought a new TV but now i just want this to be my computer monitor through an HDMI input any suggestions? can I take out a board that may be causing the problem and leave in a board solely for making it a computer monitor?
I would suggest you contact LG even if the set is out of warranty there may be a software upgrade for this kind of issue or they may be by model number familiar with the problem.
It is what I call a micro related problem-all sets have a micro processor and when you unplug the set it resets this circuit.
