Someone needs to look inside to see if something got inside and is stopping the mechanism from working---I have even seen a few which someone had managed to get 2 discs in at same time.If the mechanism is damaged it may not be worth repair as the DVD portion (if even available) costs too much.

To auto preset channels do the following procedure.
1. Press the SETUP button on the remote.
2. Using UP/DOWN arrow Select CHANNEL SET UP and press the RIGHT arrow to enter to channel preset
3. Using UP/DOWN arrow select AUTO PRESET and press the RIGHT arrow to start the auto scan.

Wait till The tuner scans and memorizes all the active channels in your area.
