What sound driver for Compaq C733TU?

I lost my sounds. and i uninstalled conexant high definition smartaudio 221 because the computer showned that i need to reinstall it. i tried to find the right one but couldn't.

any idea what and where exactly i can find this driver?

i have fixed my sound problem. try this. it might work. go to my computer icon, right click and click manage. a window will come out. click system tools > device manger > sound, video and game controller. if you see any icon with an exclamation on it, click it and click troubleshoot.

the computer will locate any problem that you have.

My laptop was formated window xp ever since then no audio sound.i need to it restore it back but i cannot find the driver.

If you go to www.realtek.co.uk and search for either HD audio driver or AC.97it should sort it for you

or go to the website of your make of computer eg

if its an acer then go to www.acer.co.uk
or compaq or hp www.hp.co.uk

type in your make model and Xp then search for Audio driver

I have compaq C716TU Laptop We downgrade it from Window Vista to Window XP need Sound Driver Sound Speakers are not working

Xp driver for laptop conextant smart audio 221

Recently I had to reload the XP sound drivers on a hp compaq 733TU laptop. I have tackled this a coupleof years back but had forgotten the problematic task. Many drivers appear to work but with microphone issues. There is a Lenovo Conexant smart audio 221 driver that does do the job correctly after modifying the .inf file contained within the driver. The driver is labelled 6ea114ww.exe from here http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=migr-70595 Using an extraction tool like winrar the 6ea114ww.exe file can be unpacked and the file TPUNHER5.inf can be updated using notepad to include your device id string from device manager.
