Can you format the card with your computer and then try it in the machine? Is the flash card exactly the same type that you have previously used with your machine? Sometimes, not all cards are compatible.
If nothing else, delete the files using the machine routine, and then see if it will format.
It's possible your CF card is full. 1. Connect the card to your computer as you have done. 2. Copy the files off it and save same them to a folder on your desktop.3. Right click only the Flash drive and navigate to "Properties" or "Get Info" if your a mac user.4. Take not of the file system it is currently using.5. Re-format the card with the same file system using your computer.6. Replace the card into your Roland SPD-S and Re-format using these steps:a. Select patch mode or wave mode.b. Press {SHIFT} and {SETUP} (CARD UTIL)c. Press the PAGE buttons to select "CARD FORMAT" then press {ENTER}d. A"[>] to format." indication appears. Press [>]e. A "format, sure?" indication is displayed. Press {ENTER} to start formatting. 7. Once formatted you can replace the card in your computers card reader and copy the files you backed up earlier onto it.8. Re-place the CF card in your Roland and it should work. If not then you may have a irreparable CF Card.

A CF card is a compact flash memory card. It's rectangular and has two rows of holes along one side which fit over the connector pins when you slide the card into its socket. Compact flash cards can be bought from electronics or photographic shops, and some department stores. They are not expensive but these days they are usually 1Gb and up. The TASCAM Pocketstudio 5 can only format up to 128Mb so most of a modern card is not used but the card will still work.
Try formatting the card on a computer than again on the camera. If you don't have success formatting the card with a computer than it is a pretty sure thing that there may be something wrong with the card.
i cant access drum patterns on tascam pocketstudio 5 why
