Do u want to resolve the f-13 fault code ON HOTPOINT WD860 Ultima
Fix the fault . It is a tricky job but the heater thermostat switch has tripped as it senses something burning. Probably a little bit of fluff on the heater element inside the heater unit.. There are 2 switches on top of this heater unit. One where the 2 blue wires go on the top left of the 3rd picture and the other which has a tall black wire connector on shown in the middle of the 3rd picture. Remove that connector and undo the holding screw . You can then reset the switch. The switch is a small circular switch hidden beneather the connector on the photos. This thermostat switch has a yellow. red dot ontop of it. If you use a small pin or needle and press into that dot you will hear it tick back into place. you have reset the switch now. You will probably need to clean the inside of the heater element unit to get rid of the fluff particles or it will keep switching off. To take this apart you will need a set of Star screwdrivers. Its a bit tricky but you will be able to undo the star screws and take them all out. I will add some photos to show you the unit apart. You can see the build up of fluff on the photos i have added from my hotpoint WD860 heater unit. This is a tricky job and takes about an hour due to the screw being awkward to take off and put on again but mine hasnt faulted for 2 years since sorting it out. You can buy a new Thermostat switch which is about 10 pounds sterling from Hotpoint or other spares stores. Take off the lid on top you will find two round obects these are the thermostats one will have a green dot this part is the problem and is very common bye a thermostat kit from your local parts supplier this will be very easy ( some thermostats have a tiny reset switch in the centre if so press it and test your drying cycle )

Hotpoint WDD960 Washer Dryer - no error code but whenever I put it on a dry cycle it just spins as if working but without actually drying. Any suggestions?

Sounds like heating element is not coming on ..Heating first then with a Fan motor running and water flow the steam that is produced by the heaters are changed to water by the cold water over a condenser , the pump then puts his out to waste..

Wdl540 clothes go through drying cycle but come

If there is no heat at all then the heater or the temp sensor or the thermal fuses are defective and need replacing.

Also check that the lint filter is clear of debris and lint. Rinse it if necessary in some mild washing up liquid in warm water and dry thoroughly. Check that the air outlet hose is clear if you have one fitted. Check that the condenser is empty of water and the case is free from dust and lint. Vacuum / brush or wash the outside of the collector in washing up liquid and warm water and dry.

My WVF 2402 washer/dryer washes clothes ok but doesn't dry them.

Sorry I'm way late with this but I've only just noticed it. Unplug the machine from the mains! Remove the lid (with a torx screwdriver) and you'll notice a small circular device with 2 leads attached on the top of the machine, in the centre there's a small button, press it and it should click......you've fixed it This is a thermal cutout safety device designed to switch the drying heater off if it becomes too hot. The probable cause for this is that you've over filled the machine and the air didn't circulate freely. as a rule of thumb, dry 1/2 as many clothes as you wash.

Have suffered the same problem. Suggest you remove back (after turning off electrical supply) and look at the water outlet pipe - you may have a sock or two in this - remember to reattach outlet and secure in position.

Washes clothes fine, drying cycle no heat

Hi, I have a Hotpoint WD640 myself and funnily enough I have the same problem. Knowing a tiny bit about washing machines you will probably find that your heating element from the dryer has stopped working. If you can still wash clothes that means that your other heating element for the washing is fine and that your thermostat for the machine is also working. If you need to buy a dryer component may I suggest 4hotpoint.co.uk, I have just bought an element from them and it cost me £27.99 including tax and P&P. May I also suggest that you get a suitably qualified or competant (not saying that you are not) person to fit the element for you as you do not want anything to go wrong with your washing machine. Hope this helps :o)
