The correct way to get into service mode is to first press the Yellow "CLEAR" button then press the numbers 1 >0>7 then press and hold the Red "STOP" button.... Good Luck

We are assuming that you are talking about Error Code SC 221
This code is a Scan length detection problem.
1.Disconnected Sychronization Detector
2.Bad LD-Unit/BICU Board

SOLUTION: Replace the Laser Diode & Laser Sync detect board

This error code is related to a Insufficient oil.
The fusing oil tank is in the rear of the machine.
You have to call Ricoh to supply the oil.

The problem can be two diffrent things.

1. Defective main motor
2. Too much load of the main motor drive

The machine has no fuser oil.
Fill the little tank at the back side of the machine. If the tank is full, check the tubes, oil pump, and oil sensor.
Reboot the machine to clear the SC.
The problem will be solved

you do not need to clear the memory print the configuration page and see which driver is supported:
it can [RPCS] or [PCL 5e] or [PCL 6e] or [PostScript]
if you are using the driver which the machine does not support she will print documents as you say some kind of codes.

Enter SP 5-810 and set to 1, then switch off and on the machine.

The error is about the fusing unit for to reset the code you must enter into the service menu and reset the SC code 517
For to enter the service menu you should do the follow steps :
1.Enter the service menu by pressing the follow keys in order: yellow key[clear modes] then press "107" number one after other and then press and hold the red key [clear/stop]
2.Hold it down until service mode do not appear if not appear after 10 seconds try again.
After you will be in service mode press the follow numbers :5810 and then will apear on the screen "SC reset" set the value from "0" to "1".
Then turn off and after 5 seconds turn it on the machine.
