My LG microwave does not heat food ,spins but makes noise

Hi, the rollers on the support mechanism has residue, try cleaning the rollers and the track it follows, should resolve the sound problem

The loud noise and no heat means that the magnetron has failed. It the part that generates the microwaves that heat the food. When it fails it shorts out, causing the transformer to heat up. That is what was causing the burning smell. The cost of a replacement magnetron is around $130-150 range so it may not make sense to have it fixed.

check the high voltage diode inside the unit,its connected to one leg of the high voltage capacitor and the other side to the metal shell of the unit,if this opens you don't get the high D.C. voltage necessary to operate the magnetron,be careful,the capacitor can store up to 2100 v.a.c.so discharge it first to be safe

IF the noise is a sound coming from the oven area, its the megatron tube. Typically, replacing the megatron tube is more expensive than replacing wiht a new unit and a new warranty.

you probably have a h.v. diode,h.v. capacitor, and the triac or magnetron is defective

Thediode and capacitors can br tested. The capacitor must bealloweddischarge before testing, or you risk to get electrocuted, evenifpower is off. Capacitors can get discharged by shorting theirtwocontacts.

Replace the magnetron if the checks and all of the high voltage component tests are good, but the unit still does not heat.

You have burned out the magnatron (heating element) which is common on GE microwaves. most service companies will charge about 200-250 to replace it

I have a problem with my LG microwave wavedom .it makes a loud noize and i does light up and turns around but its not heating any of the food which i put in to warm. Can anyone can help please? What can i do?
