Inspect
the plastic drive coupling that the tray sits on, as well as the
ring-and-roller assembly, to make sure that they're working properly. First, make sure the turntable coupler under the glass
dish is not broken. Second, on the control board, find the turntable
relay and test for voltage. Some turntable motors are 24 volts DC, so
make sure your testing the correct voltage. If no voltage from the
control board, then replace the control board. Otherwise head towards
the turntable motor. On OTR models, you can get to the motor by
un-screwing the bottom panel on the microwave. On countertop models,
there will either be a knockout or screw on access panel. Check for
voltage at the motor. If no voltage, check the wiring back towards the
control. If voltage, then replace the turntable motor. The component
list below also shows how to test a turntable motor.
GE Microwave Oven JVM1860SF001 - Noisy fan
The fix is that the magnet inside the bottom of the motor eventually drops enough as it spins(plastic hat-shaped piece under it wears/crushes down) to rub on the bottom of it, where it is metal, causing the noise. You can easily remedy this by taking apart the motor, pulling out the magnet and plastic booster piece under it, placing a thin washer on the bottom to boost them up a bit, then reassembling. Problem solved and no need to buy some overpriced part and fill up the landfills with perfectly good equip!

How to replace lightbulb inside microwave
Unplug the microwave from its electrical outlet. Never service an electrical appliance while it's plugged in.
2
Remove the screws that hold the
outer shell onto the microwave chassis. Often the screws are on the
bottom or back of the microwave. Use a Phillips screwdriver or Torx
driver to remove the screws.
3
Lift the outer shell off the microwave chassis and locate the box that houses
the halogen lightbulb. In most cases, the box is metal. It may or may
not have a lid on it. If it has a lid, loosen the tabs and pull off the
lid.
4
Unscrew the halogen bulb and replace it with a bulb rated at the exact same wattage.
5
Place the cover back onto the box if necessary and place the shell over the microwave chassis.
6
Secure the shell to the chassis with the original screws and the screwdriver or torx driver.

Without the full model number, I can only give a general answer.I would suspect that the overheating damaged the thermostat / thermal cutout that protects the magnetron. Hopefully it did its job. This most often occurs when the microwave is left to run unattended, a big no-no as mentioned in the owner's manual.
