Vcd/mp3 player always says "no disc"

I have the panasonic vcd/mp3/audio cd player and whenever i try to play any type of cd, it says "no disc". i dont think it doesnt feel the presence of the cd, coz it takes about 5-10 seconds to say (no disc)(coz normally, if no cd is in, it says no disc in just 1 or 2 seconds), but it doesnt rotate at all, it just takes 5-10 seconds and then "no disc" what can be the problem???

First try and clean the laser with a Q-tip with rubbing alchol on it. gently wipe the lens with the Q-tip. Then allow to dry for a couple of seconds. Try again if problem persists. Try to get the disc spinning wth your finger. While spinning clockwise close the lid and see if it takes off. If it does you have a bad spidle motor and it will need to be replaced. If it does not respond to either. I would consider replacement. The cost to repair by the time you pay a tech and parts you could get a new one with warranty. Generally if these need more than just a cleaning most people just replace due to cost of repair.

Does Philips DVD634 support .avi or any other format (.mp4, .mkv, etc)?

For reference:
Playable Disc Formats: CD, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD, SVCD, VCD
Playable File Formats: MP3

By the way, if you want to play other formats in your Philips DVD634, you can convert other formats to MP3 or the formats it supported with a Video Converter software. In this case, Leawo Video Converter is a good choice. It has lots of powerful functions, such as,
1. Convert video and audio between all formats.
2. Trim, Crop, Effect, Watermark to edit video.
3. Support 2D to 3D conversion.
4. Add external subtitle and select audio channel.

Maybe it could be help. :)

How to repair dvd player v zon says wrong disc

Hi Vzon DVD Player,
Before you fix anything, you need to troubleshoot the problem first to know what needs fixing. Since DVD players can play different kind of media formats like Audio CD, VCD, mp3, etc, please try the following
1. Turn on the DVD player and set the program to DVD. some player needs to be setup due to multiple functionality (can play mp3 on flash drive, etc..)
2. insert different Media CD as mentioned above if your player will play them. (if they play, try to insert the DVD you want to play)
3. Try different DVD disc
4. If all the above don't work, try to clean the laser head using the standard disc cleaner.
5. retry the DVD disc
6. If the player still don't play your DVD, probable issue would be the laser head or the disc motor.
7. Please bring them to you nearest Electronic repair shop for further assessment.

Good luck and thanks!

My DVD player has played fine until today. Now no matter what DVD I put in, it just keeps saying on my TV screen, "This Disc Cannot Be Played". What should I do? Thank you for your...

Do you have a lens cleaning disc, if so play it. That should do the job. Also confirm if it plays audio Cd's. If it plays audio CD's it will confirm that the loading tray is Ok and all the motors are functional.
All DVD players use a dual laser pick up. One is for Audio CD's / VCD's/MP3 and the other is for DVD. If you have been playing more than 1000 hours of DVD the laser unit itself could have failed. Any try the cleaning disc first. A replacement laser unit could cost you 20$ plus service charges.

DVD display indicates "no disc"

Try a lens cleaner cd, as when the lens gets misaligned or if it's quite old, it will find it harder to read a DVD as the tracks are much closer together than that of a VCD as they are cd's and their tracks are wider apart and easier to read.
