HI, Before connecting the the DVD to your TV First of all you have to the audio out put of your for the do the following using the setup menu. Press SETUP button of of the DVD player to show "setup" menu. Select the audio setup the select the digital out then change to OFF from SPIDF/RAW. Here i have added a picture which shows how to hookup the dvd player to a TV. Its for the same model that you have . to make the connection you need two codes 1. 3.5mm stereo to two RCA (for audio) 2. 3.5mm mono to single RCA(for video) connect the first cord to inoptical/audio and second one to video output of the dvd player. connect the cable which comes from the video out out of dvd to the video input (yellow) of your TV. then connect the cable which comes from the inoptical/audio of the dvd player to the audio input of the TV (red and white ). You have to select the input of your TV by pressing the AV/ source selection on the remote of the TV. check where you made the connection on the tv AV 1 or AV 2. then select the corresponding input. hope you will get it worked. Hi Vzon DVD Player, Before you fix anything, you need to troubleshoot the problem first to know what needs fixing. Since DVD players can play different kind of media formats like Audio CD, VCD, mp3, etc, please try the following 1. Turn on the DVD player and set the program to DVD. some player needs to be setup due to multiple functionality (can play mp3 on flash drive, etc..) 2. insert different Media CD as mentioned above if your player will play them. (if they play, try to insert the DVD you want to play) 3. Try different DVD disc 4. If all the above don't work, try to clean the laser head using the standard disc cleaner. 5. retry the DVD disc 6. If the player still don't play your DVD, probable issue would be the laser head or the disc motor. 7. Please bring them to you nearest Electronic repair shop for further assessment. The power socket on the DVD player has a faulty solder connection. This connector need to be re-soldered to the circuit to fix this problem.

It is possible the video ribbon feed has become disconnected or broken, you need to remove the main battery and screws from the bottom and any from the DVD tray to take the unit apart, check to make sure the ribbon from the LCD panel to the main board is connected to the slot, if there is a visable crack replacement of the player is recommended. the other point is a bad DVD assembly, new player best option.

Put a video CD and see whether it reads and plays. If it also does not plays, or if video CD only plays and not DVD; in both cases; the Laser Pickup Unit is faulty and should be replaced with same type and number. OK.

All DVD players use a dual laser pick up. One laser is for CD/VCD/MP3 and the other laser is only for DVD. If you have watched more DVD and less CD's you could be having a problem with the DVD laser. Must have become week and the system cannot read the disk. Change of the lens unit will solve your problem.

Wrong disc/No disc error can be a DIY like the following steps.

Assuming that the disc is good.

1.Cleaning the lens. - Sometimes because of dust the lens can't read any disc.

Try clean the lens by soft cotton buds. Be careful while doing this.

2.Replacing the ribbon - Check the ribbon connected to the lens from the main board for scratch, damage. Once it has an open line then of course the lens can't read the disc. Also try to erase the contact by pencil eraser.

If you've done the steps above and the symptoms still there then the next step requires you a little knowledge in soldering technique and reading the ohmmeter.

3.Checked the motor - Check the motor that spin the disc with an ohmmeter. You can test it using the ohmmeter (x1) even it is connected on the lens assembly.

Good motor - reading should be fairly high and it will spin.

Bad motor - reading will drop to low resistance and will not spin.

Hint : 50% of my repaired unit the above parts are commonly caused of the problem.

If you confirmed that you have a defective motor then replace it with a new one. Before replacing the new motor you have to check the clearance of the disc holder with the old one. The clearance should be the same as the old because if not the lens will not read the disc if it is too far or too close.
If you already cleaned the lens, and confirmed that the ribbon is good as well as the motor then I've advice you to send it to repair shop because the next step should be done with an expert because it is quite technical diagnosing the fault between the pick-up lens and the main board.

Step 1- open the DVD tray Step 2- Press the "MENU" button on the remote control Step 3- Press" 8888" Step 4- Press the " DISPLAY" button Step 5- Select your region. I would suggest enter " 0", this will make it a all region player. Step 6- Press the " SETUP button to exit.

This means that the laser head can't read the disk - this is caused by the dirt that has settled on it. Use a can of compresed air to blow most of it and a q-tip to gently wipe the rest from the lens.
