I already re-installed the driver and it's working properly. Just wondering, why is it that if I put a different USB, it can be read...

Can I remove ram from acer aspire 3003wlci to add to toshiba satellite p205d-s7454. The acer is pc-2700 and Toshiba is Pc2-5300 200 pin DDR2. Is sticking a USB 1gb readyboost the same as installling 1gb?

To answer your question, no. Those RAM types are not compatible as they are a full generation apart in terms of a RAM lifecycle.
And to answer your question about Readyboost, no. Installing a 1gb flash drive to use with readyboost isn't the same as installing an extra 1gb of internal system memory. It essentially allows Windows to use the newly added flash drive as a system cache. See more information on Readyboost here.
Thanks, and have a great day!

no its not the problem with your vista , its the problem with usb flash drive, sometimes your antivirus program prevent it from reading the flashdrive because of some virus on it.

Disc Drive

two things to do.

1. Go to your system manager, then hardware option. If you can 'see' that drive(listed under DVD/CD) then it's mechanically ok.

2. Drivers for these can be abrupted quite a bit, easily. Check for drivers at support.toshiba.com

SanDisk Malfunction

unfortunately the files cannot be recovered immediately, macs a are compatible with PC flash drives but not the other way around. you need to format the disk. go to start>my computer> then right click on the flash drive and then left click on format, then click ok. when it is done bring the flash drive back to the mac and put the files back on. now try putting the flash drive into the pc again
