The Power Jack's soldering might have gone loose, that makes this problem. Try contacting near by toshiba service center, and place a repair order and get it fix.

As you said that the screen becomes normal by moving the laptop the issue could be with the connector inside the notebook. The connectors may be loose. To fix this issue your notebook needs to be repaired.

Toshiba default factory setting can only restor your software if you have backup copy on New Harddrive.

As your old Harddrive crashed, you have to reinstall Operating system and requie software on new Harddrive.

If you abuse the laptop, or let your kid(s) do so, expect to pay for it - displays are comparatively fragile, and replacing them (they generally aren't "repairable" as-such) is comparable to buying a brand-new laptop.

If this problem doesn't go away on reboot, it may already be too late. You can try going into Control Panels/Display to try adjusting those settings, but you generally can't fix broken hardware with software - it just doesn't work that way.

The problem may lie in the printers setting for the margins. Do you set the margins only in word 2007 or do you check the printers margins too?

Also the issue may lie with the printer having the incorrect paper size

Have a look in the printer properties (When you go to print, its beside the printer selected) and look through there and see if there are any issues.

Does it work for anything? Does it read data or audio CDs? Canyou save files to it? Can you format a CD/RW? If NOT reinstall the DRIVER.
