I believe it is a heat issue. When my laptop (HP Pavilion tx 2000) gets really hot, the fans get more louder and eventually randomly goes on standby.
It also doesn't help if you use batteries, as well and use a hot and cool surface. Also make sure your fans are not clogged, look under the laptop.

Hey I have the same problem. I believe it has to do with your CPU usage. If it is constantly hitting 100% it tends to hibernate or even switch off at worst times. I do not know what will solve this issue but I guess it may be an overheating issue, where the laptop switches off or hibernate when it gets too hot...

What version of windows are you using?
I will describe a possible solution of window 7 for you.
Go to "Power options", then click on "change plan settings".
Now click on "change advance power setting".
You will be able to fix the problem there. check your "display" and "sleep" settings.

Hp pavillion dv2500 laptop- LEDs glow, fan noise may be heard briefly, display remains black, and computer fails to startup or boot

This sounds like the possibly infamous Nvidia GPU defect. It is caused by heat, over time the solder fractures and separates from the board. Typically the solution is either repair it (temporary fix) or get a new board and hope for the best.

I have a hp pavilion dv1000 laptop and it randomly hibernates

Go to the control panel > Power Options, click on the hibernation tab and uncheck it. Click on apply and ok. Hibernation can damage older HP systems such as the DV1000 that is running XP, make sure it is turned off and also go through the power settings and change the setting for closing the lid on the laptop. Change the setting to "Do Nothing". This will keep your system from getting corrupt.

Screen will not come on hp pavillion 2000 laptop help

Hi,

try powering the laptop on, and open/closing the lid.
this is to ensure, the closed lid catch is activating/de-activating.
you should get a beep or tone, when the lid is closed.
Or the laptop, will go into Sleep/hibernation Mode.
Also try pressing and holding the power on Button for more Than 5 seconds, This will eliminate that the laptop hasn,t gone Into sleep/hibernate Mode.
If none of this Works for You. Try removing and replacing The memory modules ( RAM ) and use 1 stick of memory in each slot individually. failing any of this. i,d suspect. Screen Inverter/tft Panel Or Motherboard Fault. Or possible graphics driver Corrupt/missing.

Hp dv2500 wont turn on

does the laptop plug in tightly to the power socket

if not the pavilion part to get the system power needs replacement

contact a local technician and state the power adapter plug-in on the motherboard needs replaced

these commonly go bad on pavilions

it should cost you less than 100usd to repair

or rma the laptop if you have warranty coverage left on the hp dv2500

good luck

HP Pavillion dv2500 laptop will not boot up.

Pressing the f8 key doesn't work either? This should boot the laptop to safe mode, if it doesn't then check the memory cards before you do anything else, try to get somebody with the same type of memory card to lend it to you. If that doesn't work, then your HDD is corrupted, and to re-install Windows.

HP Pavillion dv2500 laptop won't turn on

Kinda strange. Not turning on indicates a hardware problem, you made software changes. If the software changes caused a problem, it would start, just not boot to windows. I would first tryy to reset the laptop. Unplug it and remove the battery, hold down the power button for 60 seconds, then try again. If still no go, start removing hardware one at a time, hard drive, rem, wireless card, dvd rom. You may have a bad hard drive. Your pc should boot to bios if there is no hard drive installed. If that happens, run a diagnostic on your hard drive from your bios. Let me know if you need anything else.
