Suspect a defective q-box. Some Sony sets may refer to this part as a b-board or digial board. Most likely the board will be located inside what we techs call a can. It is metal and had holes in it.

Could this be the BM board? Also is there a component inside I can replace? I don't see this board available anymore??

I do I fix white dots on screen

Hi
Have you tuned the channel frequency tuner? Use the remote to bring up setup menu on TV, scan channel frequencies & save. If it's an old TV that can't pick up digital signals, then you need to get a digital set top box & tune to TV.

Look for any loose contacts in RC jack, cable, connectors. Try using a different input device.

Powers on but no video display

I think I have a similar problem. The screen lights up, but I have thin vertical lines, mostly washout out by white toward the top. However, I can hear the TV programs even as I surf up and down through my channels.. If I change inputs, it seems to cycle through each mode, and I am able to get back to the TV input, but the display does not change.

I am trying to connect an akai dvd player to directv, please help

ruettab,

good day. to connect your any DVD player to any TV screen always remember this color code

from DVD back part:

yellow = video out

red/blue/green( in a row) = component video out ( this can only be used for screen with component video inputs)

Black = digital audio ( rarely use unless)
Red and white (in a row) = Audio output (left and right audio)

where to connect from TV screen.

Locate where A/V INPUTS (audio/video socket) from your TV screen, you can see it either at the BACK/SIDE or somtimes in FRONT of TV screen , having marked as "AV1"AV2"AV3' .

Once you found TV input, you must first have RCA cable (color code cable to connect player to screen) then connect the RCA cable at the back of your DVD player, simply follow color code

RCA yellow marked cable = DVD yellow socket
RCA RED and WHITE marked cable = DVD RED and white socket (second row for your player)

then connect the other end of the RCA cable to TV screen, first select which input where you gonna place the DVD player ( either AV1, Av2 or Av3 if do have multiple inputs)

once decided which INPUT to connect the player.
ex. if you select AV1 as input there would be 3socket on its row (yellow/red/white)

now connect the other end of RCA cable to the screen by following the same color code:

RCA yellow cable = TV screen A/V1 input yellow socket
RCA RED and White = TV screen A/V1 input red and white socket.

cheers,
mark

DVD player won't work on my 27gt615

alexa,

good day, if youre saying that you program the DVD to work on channel 2 or 4 does it mean you convert the signal of your dvd player from A/V output to RF out?

because the simpliest way to connect your DVD player to TV screen is by using RCA cable ( 3 wired cable being color marked as yellow/red/white) yellow = video red and white = audio

the connection would be: from dvd back part you'll see colored socket yello/red and white. connect the RCA to those socket following the same color .

and from the TV screen there should be A/V input socket. can be locate at the BACK/Side or FRONT of the screen marked as
"INPUT" ( AV1, AV2,AV3 if multiple inputs). Then select which input you want to place your DVD player ex.AV1 (from AV1 there will be 3 scoket in a row, yellow/red/white)

Connect the other end of your RCA cable following the same color code to TV "AV1 INPUT" yellow = yello/red =red/white=white. then from the remote commander of your TV screen locate a button marked as "TV/AV" or "A/V" press this button until the screen display switch to AV1.

cheers,
mark
