My Lorex DVR turns off or resets every 2-5 minutes, the buttons on the DVR don't work and the DVR does not respond to to the mouse or remote, I have called both customer support and technical support to no avail.

If your Lorex LHV1000 HD DVR is not booting up, there are a few things you can try:

1. Check all cables and connections: Ensure that all cables are securely connected to the DVR and that there are no loose connections or damaged cables.
2. Restart the DVR: Disconnect the power cable from the DVR, wait for a few minutes, and then reconnect it. Try to power on the DVR again.
3. Reset the DVR: If restarting the DVR doesn't work, try resetting it to its default settings. This can be done by pressing and holding the reset button on the back of the DVR for about 10 seconds.
4. Check the hard drive: If the DVR is still not booting up, it could be due to a faulty hard drive. Try removing the hard drive and connecting it to a computer to check if it's still functioning properly.

gain access by using a usb mouse... insert into usb port in rear of dvr... hover over lower left corner to reveal main menu.

call lorex they will tell you how to reset.

power switch on back of dvr...connect wired mouse to usb port in rear of dvr.

There should be a paper clip size hole somewhere on the back of the unit. If you depress the button in there it should be the reset. The problems sounds to me more of a hard drive issue though.

remove the outer cover of the DVR try to find the on board battery
remove it for about 5 sec or 10 sec (while power off)

Try pressing 0 on the remote. This locks and unlocks the screen for some reason

If the buttons on the case are working but the buttons on the remote don't then it's clearly a fault with the remote.
Each button in the remote is made out of 2 wires on the electronics board that are joined by a small patch of conductive paint situated on the rear of the rubber button. If something gets in there, like water or dirt or the patch flakes out, the contact is no longer made and the button no longer works. The remote will have to be dismantled by popping the clips on the periphery with a sharp tool, the rubber strip holding the buttons will have to be washed and the board wiped clean. If the buttons still don't work after that then the remote is dead, you will have to get another one.
