The hard drive is the formatter in the T610.
HP has a special operating system software loaded on the hard drive, so you can't just format a blank one and install it.
The whole formatter assembly will need to be replaced.

First, this model is not color laserjet, only black. HP LaserJet M5035 MFP 30.1.34 Cable error or loss of communication with the formatter. 1. Turn the device off and then turn the device on. 2. Make sure that the ribbon cable between the scanner control board and the formatter is not damaged and is correctly seated. 3. Make sure that the hard disk drive on the formatter is connected correctly and that the hard disk is functioning correctly. 4. If the message persists, replace the scanner control board or replace the formatter.
You could download and install Seatools, free, from the Seagate website (Seagate incorporates Maxtor). You can run a check and possibly repair the disc if it is damaged. Seatools and can also automatically report on the manufacturer's 5 year warranty, and provides a reference to have it repaired under any guarantee which may remain.
firstly check your cable connections, then log onto your bios setup menu during startup and check whether the Hard drive is detected by your bios, if it is then you can try to format the harddrive using the ntfs system (use the long formatt) if you are using windows xp or later if using any earlier os then formatt with the FAT32 system.
If your HDD is not detected by the bios then try to download bios updates for your motherboard and install thed in windows. is this does not work then its time to get a new HDD. thanks
