I have a handful of remotely connected Nortel IP phones that intermittently lose their "Feature Keys" however they retain their voice capabilities. Resetting the phone by pbx or recyling does not fix the problem. Only by going into the signaling server and resetting the features for that specific phone seems to do the trick. From an IP perspective what criteria must be met to ensure proper operation of the phone feature keys? Is there another signaling protocol that must be given a certain level of qos outside of the call signaling and voice streams that controls these features? I'd appreciate any help.

Your problem is in the phone system programming. I would need to know how old your main cabinet is in order to tell you how to fix it. On most Nortel systems you use "Feature Key" **266344 (Feature **CONFIG) . You will need to program from a M7310 phone because you need the 3 soft keys under the display which the M7208 does not have. The top 4 keys on the phone are used for programming (2 LEFT & 2 RIGHT) . I'm referring to the 2 vertical rows of keys (5 LEFT & 5 RIGHT). Upper left key is up a menu, upper right key is SELECT, lower left is BACK, and the lower right is NEXT. I believe you need to find the CAPABILITIES menu for your station/extension and use the next button to look for the handsfree setting use the key under the display to change it. The manuals are at http://wedophones.com/Manuals/Nortel/
Hi....you need to push "feature" button at the top of the phone, then * * 2-3-6-4-6 (a.d.m.i.n ), then when phone asks for password, press 2-3-6-4-6 again, default, unless someone has programmed a different one. use the template link below, this fits over the row of keys on the right side of phone. push "next" until you get to "date and time", and then with a combination of "show" and "change" you can get to change time . try it and see how it goes. email me at [email protected] with questions. link is good for other commands as well. good luck http://www.meridian-norstar.com/3_nortel_meridian_norstar_programming.html
Check the IP segments. Your printer & your machine would be falling in the same IP segment as your job network. Change the IP segment of your pc & printer.
Feature 75 if the phone is in your group (see administator), Feature 76 plus DN (extention) to use directed pickup (if you know which extention is receiving a call)
1. Reset the phone by disconnecting and re-connecting power.
2. When the Nortel logo appears, press each of the four soft keys in sequence.
3. If no other configuration changes are required, press OK repeatedly until the “PC
Port? 1-ON 0-0FF” option appears.
4. Press 1 to enable the PC Port or 0 to disable the PC Port.
5. Select OK to confirm the change.
6. Restart the IP Phone.
When the IP Phone is restarted, the firmware sets the PC Port status accordingly
