there is a experimental method to bring your notebook to life
1. put a scotch tape on every cooling hole on your notebook
2. put the notebook in a nylon bag and powered it on for about 1 hour
3. notebook may be shut down after a 30 minutes remove it from the bag and remove all scotch tape and put your notebook on the table for about 30 minutes to cool down than try to powered it on with this method fix my dv 6000 pavilion :)
Just plug an external monitor and conrm display is ok or not. If it is ok, you have connectted the back light or back light cable incorrectly. Else mother board - back light connectivity is not there, check it
usualy I do like this: if I'm using a resource and this disapperar I restart PC if the resource start working is probabliy a operating system issue (virus,driver,issue, or what other in the S.O), if the resource still doesn't work it's possible a hardware problem. It may be usefoul to controll BIOS or try a live linux distribution to be sure if is an hardware problem.

there is a little latch on either side of where it connecto to the mother board slide those with you fingernails towards the monitor then pull the cable out...!!!!!!!!!!!!BE CARFULL!!!!!!!!!! if you break anything your only choice will be to use an external keyboard or replace your motherboard. good luck
