Frigidaire Front load washer ATF8000FS1 is not draining completely and I can not change the washer cycle to spin only. Every time I start it is sounds like it is starting to drain but then just hums for a minute or two or until I shut it off. What Can I do to fix the problem?

The drain hose is clogged/kinked, the drain filter/coin trap is blocked, or the drain pump is broken. Replace the drain pump after having found no problem with the drain hose, cleaned the filter, and checked the drain pump impeller but the drain pump just hums, buzzes or whirs.

Remove the screws securing the top panel to the rear of the machine cabinet then slide the panel rearward and off.




Remove the screws securing the console to the inside of the cabinet.




Remove the dispenser drawer and remove the screws in tFrigidaire Front load washer ATF8000FS1 - jahn27_611.jpghown below.





Pull the bottom of the console forward while lifting up to rFrigidaire Front load washer ATF8000FS1 - jahn27_613.jpgtom tabs from the front panel. Rotate the console until the electrical connections are visible.




Disconnect the following wire harnesses from the console.



Disconnect the other console wire harnesses from the connections inside the machine cabinet.





Using needle nose pliers, start where the spring and wire are connected at the bottom of the bellows and pull the wire out of the groove of the bellows then pull the bellows off of the lip of the front paFrigidaire Front load washer ATF8000FS1 - jahn27_619.jpg/>


Remove the screws securing Frigidaire Front load washer ATF8000FS1 - jahn27_620.jpgand switch assembly to the fFrigidaire Front load washer ATF8000FS1 - jahn27_621.jpgce the screws are removed, lift the door lock and switch assembly to release it from the front panel.




Remove the screws along the top edge of the front panel then the screws along the bottom edge.





Disconnect all wire harnesses then lift up and pull the front panel off the plastic retainers.




Loosen the clamp securing the pump's outlet hose and the tub-to-hose pump to the bottom of the tub then take the filter out and remove the debris. You should find foreign objects such as coins, toothpicks, hairpins and the likes blocking the filter. Clear the filtFrigidaire Front load washer ATF8000FS1 - jahn27_623.jpgn objects and inspect the pump impeller by turning it with your finger. The impeller may be restricted or damaged resulting in the water not pumped out properly. Replace the pump if the impeller is broken or restricted and doesn't turn freely. Reassemble the machine by following the steps above in reverse order.

When installing the filter in the coin trap, the top ring of the filter MUST be seated in the 3rd convolution from the bottom.
