Pride Sundancer 3 Wheel Electric Scooter Questions & Answers
Where is the fuse for sundancer??
Just a guess!
Pride may tell you as they told me that it doesn't have one, nevertheless I found mine below the floor hatch under the foot mat ... and? It was blown. It's a standard 10 Amp car fuse, it cost a few cents and the problem was fixed.
The provider had said that it was definately my batteries and that he would replace them at €157.00 He didn't seem interested when I told him that they were already new! " One of them will be faulty then" he said.
Find that fuse, it's not in the tiller fuse box - but please don't forget that there is a risk of a power short or a bad electric shock be very careful and/ or get an electrician's help.
Sundancer scooter flashing wigwag code
The wig-wag can be tested with an ohm or multimeter. The wigwag plug must be disconnected in the tiller console or at the split-frame connector. Speed dial must be turned up all the way. Measure the wigwag with the ohm meter from the outer most tabs. It should read 5,000 ohms +/- 5%. Then measure center tab to either outer tab. When in "neutral" position it should read 2,500 ohms +/- 10%. If the wigwag is in tolerance I would have the batteries and battery harnesses checked next. Each battery should be charged and tested by a battery shop. These should be 12volt 18-35amp hour batteries.
If the batteries test fine then you have a wiring issue where a loose or corroded wire is dropping voltage under load. Sometimes these types of "bad" connections will cause the wire/connector to become warm or even discolor the connector/wire.
Best regards.
Wiring diagram
Hi, so are you saying that both cables are red ?? if so that 's a DIY job because regulations (EEC and so on ) state that they must clearly indicate polarity ...

You have been plagued by the infamous Pride Scooter "Time Out Timer" faulty board. In the console there is a timer board that shuts the scooter off if the key has been left in for too long. Only thing is is that these boards quit working properly and wont turn on. Like a posessed demon they are very intermittent in their cooperation - kind of like the wife's cat...The relay on the board can be permanently bypassed if you know which two pins to jumper together - then the problem will be solved. [ : ` `] <- similar to pins on relay. It's NOT the two close together as those two have power when the key is on.

If there is no power to the key switch, then battery has to be checked. If battery is new and properly charged then switch has to be replaced.
The pride scooter electric system functions in this way':----
Two 12 volt batteries are connected in series. The voltage is applied to rear main controller, then this voltage is sent up to the key switch located at the console. It then travels to the meter, the horn, and back down to the controller. When the throttle lever is depressed in either direction, the controller sens approx 24 volts to brake assembly.Releasing the throttle and scooter will move in desired direction.
-----------
first check the battery voltage. It should not be less then 12.4 on each battery. If its less then it needs to be recharged.
------------
Now if battery voltage checked ok,then move to the circuit breaker testing.Because from battery the voltage goes to circuit breaker.
If the circuit beaker is open then voltage will not pass further to the console.
Using a multimeter test the circuit beaker. take a voltage reading, from each side of circuit breaker to most negative battery terminal.
To determine the most negative battery terminal, place the red lead of the multimeter to one of the positive terminal of one battery, and back lead of multimeter to the negative terminal of opposite battery.
Read the total battery voltage.
It is possible to get the initial reading of zero volts.
If this reading appears then move to other positive and negative battery terminals and you should get total battery voltage approx 24 volt's.
With the most negative battery terminal found take a reading from the metal tabs of circuit breaker to most negative battery terminal found. Both reading should be not less then total voltage of the battery, then reconnect the battery. But if circuit breaker is not giving any voltage then its faulty battery to circuit breaker connection. But if circuit breaker shows voltage and there is no power to key switch in console then its faulty key switch.

On the older sidekick(sundancer) there is an ATO fuse in a rubber boot under the pyramid shaped cover to the rear electronics console that runs to the meter on the pyramid. The newer sundancers have no rear fuse at the electronics tray for the charger. You more likely have a bad charger which is causing an inhibit condition. Usually the scooter will drive away with the charger plugged in until the capacitor drains (1 minute). By unplugging the charger you can get the scooter to run. Check the fuse and the meter connections, then replace the charger with the newer Maximizer style charger with the harness adapter kit.

dcreek do you have power to the console? Are you getting any error code flashes on the console? If it just loses power and cuts completly off check your connections on the batteries ie are the cables tight on the post or tabs. Also check the circuit breaker and the fuse on the battery pack. Make sure that the battery pack is well seated in its place on the scooter. You might try removing the battery pack and look closely at the contacts under the battery pack and on the scooter frame make sure none of them (contacts) are bent or crooked and that they are clean. I have a troubleshooting guide I can send you via e-mail if you will e-mail me @
