Shirley, it's just a harmful mist. This usually occurs on hot, high humidity days. Keeping the air intake filter clean, will help to reduce it.

Try to take the front off of the unit. You can reach your hand inside the blower chamber and reach for the blower cage. Try to turn it by hand, it may possibly have a dirt dobber nest or something lodged into one of the fan blades keeping it from turning. Sometimes on the newer units, the motors are so weak, they need a little help starting if they have been sitting a while. Hopefully this will solve your problem.

Wall mounted a/c is having vent close in remote it self. In remote press in any one name of the following. vent/air flow/sweep/swing. And also after switch off by remote wait for 30 seconds to get automatic close vent.

i am assuming you mean it is like a cloudy color, it has to do with the humidity and the coolness of the air from the a/c. This is a common occurence in an automobile. Hope this helps Tim

hello. when the stems crack, it is generally due to age and drying out of the plastic. you may be able to get new knob controls at your local appliance store. You can also do a repair with some clear one minute epoxy. J.

I would have the unit checked by a Service Tech and would not run it (the AC) until it was fixed.

This could be a dangerous situatiion especially if the breaker doesn't trip.

The vent will bring in outside air while running. If you are use the cooling keep the vent closed for the best performance.

If you are just using the fan only for air circulation and it is mild outside you can open the vent for fresh air to be pulled into your home.

If you are kinda handy you can check the capacitor the compressor side sounds like from your description is bad. Cheap part to replace in a small place to repair.

You can purchase a bullet piercing valve port to install the refrigerant your unit takes. Refrigerant is available; however, some are much more expensive than others and it is necessary to use the exact type of refrigerant your unit was designed for. The prices of R12 and R22 are astronomical. If your window unit uses either of these two refrigerants, you would be well advised to invest your money in a new unit rather than repair what you have.

its a compressor problem. compressors are not user serviceable. You need to contact an air conditioner technician for this problem.

Fix It was a waste of time!!!

After recieving four emails from Fix it, purporting to have collected solutions offered by "experts" -- each turning out to be solicitations for paid services and memberships but offering no solutions to our problem -- we decided to tell everyone we know that Fix It is not worth trying.

Fix It is either an outright fraud or should police the profiles and accounts on their site.

Hi, Sounds like the lightning got your unit too. You could run an extension cord from another plug temporarily just to make sure the plug isn't the problem but I think its time for another unit. Good luck. May want to contact you home owners ins company if there are more appliances blown. kstfas
