Possibly a voltage overload. You will be able to smell the buring at the USB socket power point. Needs to be sent in to the workshop for repairs and various chips and diodes need to be replaced

Replace the battery. You can only recharge so many times before it dies of old age.

I have the same issues with my TomTom Go 730. The screen menues and keyppad starts taking input on its own . I have contacted the TomTom and they asked to upgrade the software from their web site. I did that with no success. TomTom support sites kept me over the phone for 3 hours with no reolution . I bought this after hearing good things about TomTom . Unfortunately had a very bad customer support experience and a faulty product and waster my $250 .

All the instructions for updating your device is on the tomtom website so just follow the simple instructions to update it. If you mean you dont have a map because its been deleted then you will have to purchase a new one. You must use tomtoms program on your computer to manage the device. Either tomtom home or the web based tomtom application depending on your model. See the website for full details.

If you just get the green light and it will not start and pressing the reset will not start it in any way then it is not repairable if under warranty tomtom will replace it but if not then you will have to buy a new satnav If it starts but a message or an X is on screen then a full system reinstall may fix it. Follow instructions from website and remember to back up first and ensure you have a copy of the map first.

The folder 'ZIP' has been deleted from your tomtom unit.If you have a back up simply copy and paste it back, if you have made a back up using tomtom home look in, my documents/tomtom/home/backup. This is the default location for tomtom home. If you cant find it anywhere, give me your email address and i'll send it to you

Surface mount USB was a little tricky to remove, got there in the end and resoldered new part on.
If a Usb cable is inserted awkwardly the internal pins can be easily bent and damaged, rendering your device useless, good job i have experience with removing Usb's.

Most likely the demo script in the \script directory of your TT is named "salesdemo.script". A script by this name is run automatically after a certain time. Just rename it to "demo.script". Problem solved.

About the only way to get this is contact the maker either on the website or by phone.
