Some versions of the TomTom ONE 3rd Edition have limited internal memory(no memory card slot).

connect your device to TomTom Home to check how much memory you have available and check the map is not too big for the internal memory

Then the battery is defective or the GPS has failed.

First thing ensure that the TomTom is fullly charged using the home charger.
Press the small reset button on the base (700) or do a factory reset.
The other thing to try is tap the GPS signal bars to go to the configure and check in the top right hand corner there is a circle with yellow and black esgments if this is moving then your TomTom is looking for a signal. Move around and you should find that the bars at the bottom will start to move and the small screen on the right will start to indicate circles. When the bars start to move you are getting GPS signals when the bars change to blue there you have a coordination for your position. Some areas are worse than others so move out of your house if after doing above does not get a signal

Yeah, well, maybe the street is not in the map base. I have a TomTom One 3rd Edition, and there are buildings and streets that are over 5 years old that are not contained in the maps.

One way to find out if the street is there is to drive to the location and see if it shows that you are on a road. If no road, then the map is outdated.

1.Touch the screen for the menu
2.on page 1 of 3 on the menu, touch the blue wrench (change prefs)
3.press the black right arrow key to page 4 of 7 in preferences and touch the flags icon
4.press your desired language

Turn your unit off connect it to your PC, and then turn it on.

Download tomtomhome from http://www.tomtom.com/services/service.php?id=16&tab=87

Install and run the program and follow the onscreen prompts to update your unit.

If you have a right to a free update (within 30 days of first use), go to TOmTom and download the Home Application to your computer. Install the software and connect the GPS to a USB port. When TomTom Home senses the GPS it will connect to it and run an update. Your free update (if any) will be installed and your maps will be updated.
