How do i change the message on my nortel t7208

The caller ID facility is an optional facility provided by your Operator and this needs to be activated from operator side in order to show in customer's Called ID device.
Please check it with any other line that has the same facility activated.

T7208 nortel network general voicemail locked
Generally, you dial feature 981 to get in, then extension number and password. If you have no new messages it will say that, then give you the option to review old messages. To delete a message you press 76. If that doesn't work, login to your mailbox, press 8* then 6 to get to "go to message" then press the message number and #. If you have an on-site administrator, they can delete your mailbox as well, otherwise you will have to call your tech help service and have them erase it remotely.
We lost the voicemail password!
If you have an in-house administrator, they can log in and reset it. You might try 0000 and 1234 just in case, otherwise you will have to call whatever tech help you have and get them to reset it.
Message waiting led stays on even though there are
There is this thing on Norstar systems called Reply message... this turns on your voicemail light, but there is on messages when you go into the mailbox.
Try this: FEATURE # 6 5
There might be something on you set that will tell you who sent the message, and you can hit the # or press the OK button to cancel this message!

Handset does not work, only handsfree, how to
Check the bottom of the set, and make sure that the handset is plugged into the handset - not - handset to the headset jack.
Make sure that the cords that attach the handset are all plugged in.
Take someone elses handset and test to see if it the set or maybe you have a bad handset issue.

T7208 flashing light-no dial tone. Is there any
sounds bad to me.
Is the light flashing really quick? Or is it like when you have a voicemail and flashing...
You may have plugged the set into an analog port, where the set is getting too much power and that is one reason why it could be flashing like it is.
Plug another set, that you know is working into the same jack, this will tell you if the jack is set up for your digital phone or for an analog phone.

Hi there...
OK, the Nortel T7208 set works only on a Nortel system.
It has only one line cord plugged into it, cause the telephone system can be programmed for more telephone lines and features from the system.
If you want just a home (analog) telephone service; look at Aastra/ Telematrix/ there are others - 2 line sets.
ONLY buy this Nortel set is you have a Norstar system. Otherwise the set will not work for you. It needs a system to run off.

I have recently moved to a new office which has the T7208.
This is probably not related to the phone itself but more likely related to the telephone system it connects to. You can configure an IP phone to connect to a telephone system at a external service provider but I would be surprised if their time was out by seven minutes so I'm guessing that you have an IP PBX in your office somewhere. It would have the names of the people at the different extensions. You probably have a support person who looks after your computers and operating systesms it is fairly normal in smaller offices for that person to also look after the telephones. I do this for two small businesses which have about 40 employees all togeather. Have a chat to your boss, someone should be responsabile for your phone system too. As time goes by it will just get worse and if it has a failure someone should know how it all works. Hope this hepls
I have a Nortel T7208 can't change main greeting
to change the main greeting you need to get into admin programing F983 your also going to need a 7310 or 7324 or a T7316. You have to use the buttons under the LCD screen to navigate after getting into admin press AA
Press GRTG
Press GRTG again
and usually 1 is set for day
and 2 is set for night
press 1 then ok
Press REC.
