Put your finger in the upper right corner of the screen and keep it there as you power up the unit. You will be asked to clear all user data if you select Yes it clears everything. On the other hand if you use the lower left corner at start up you will end up in maintenance mode which may have some info in the error reports.

Hello,

If your 12v power cable has the light on and your are still not receiving a charge to your unit then your powered cradle is probably dead. This is fairly common with the old powered mounts. A replacement can be obtained here http://www.gpscity.ca/garmin-nuvi-3xx-cradle.html.

Do you have EU maps on it. ?
In menu check what maps are loaded ?

There's a fuse in the plug that goes into the cigarette lighter socket. To get at it unscrew the ring at the end beside the silver tip. When you take the ring off, being careful not to lose the silver tip, the plug comes apart. Take out the fuse and take it to any car electrical suppliers shop and they will give you a replacement for it.

Yes it will show you where you are and where your going, the whole point of gps is knowing location, if your unit is having troubles the antenna may be dead or you could be getting poor reception. Try giving the unit a firmware update using Garmins WebUpdater, this may help.

You probably need a map upgrade. These can be purchased online from either Garmin or 3rd party retailers. I recently upgraded mine and found that a one time upgrade was about $50., but a lifetime subscription to map upgrades was $79.00 For the extra $29.00 I went with the Lifetime.

Go to Tools..... Settings....Language... under Voice tab select one that has an ending with ( TTS ) text to speech

go to garman web site for upgrades and connect with cable to computer for the newest version and upgrade.

you first have to have the original owner call garmin and have them release it from his name and ownership, once it is released from his name you then can Register it in your name.

Hi, from the detailed explanation you just gave concerning the charging issues with your Garmin, first of all plugging the Garmin and Sirius radio into a double prong jack adapter won't stop the Garmin from charging and secondly since you can still wall charge the Garmin, then there is nothing wrong with the device. So i suspect a faulty car charger irrespective of the fuse condition. Purchase a new car charger.....

I would make sure that your Ciy Navigator map is selected


go to Tools...Settings....Map....on bottom of screen press Map Info....make sure a check mark is in the City Navigator North American NT

if you forgot your pin number you must return to the SECURITY LOCATION...... the security location is where you first set up your gps....( your home or office ) then the unit will automatically unlock for you, remember to reset your pin number when unlocked..

Other than that you would have to send your unit back to Garmin with the proper receipt of ownership.

Are you talking about the Last Position or Location..... The Last Position is where the GPS came off the cradle or holder... once you connect it to a cigarette lighter adapter and remove it, it retains the Last Position... to create the Last Position when plug into lighter, remove it from Holder /Cradle then turn off unit... this will create last position... to find it go to your Favorites it will guide you to your car


This feature is awesome if you park your car somewhere, you can always find it by going to your favorites ... last position

If its not connected to an external power source, then your battery is shot.
