I understand your frustration - but don't toss it yet! Try a hardware reset first.

1) Lift the antenna up as usual.

2) Locate and press the small button on the rear of the nuvi (that was covered by the antenna).

3) Hold it in for 3 seconds.

4) Place it into the cradle / charger and it will turn back on and operate normally.

Depends on the model, screen size.... is the image ok? if so, maybe you just need a new touchscreen. If the image is distorted then you will need the LCD or both.

I'm sorry that the GPS System is not turning ON as expected and stays on one picture when connected to Computer. I suggest that you reset the System to resolve the issue. Please follow the below steps to reset the unit.



If the issue persists after resetting service may be required. If the unit is out of warranty, you can locate your nearest service center from the following link:

It would be best if you give Garmin sales a call regarding this. They should be able to direct you to the correct option.

This has been a common problem for these devices (Nuvi 350s). Contact Garmin and get a return code; ship it to them (or if you're near the store you bought, return it there). They will fix or replace, for free if you're within warranty.

Their technical support is very helpful, and I tried all the suggestions above. When nothing worked I called again, and they accepted it for repair even though it was outside original warranty. I think this is a common problem with the newer firmware, don't be scared to call their support.

I would try updating the unit by connecting to to a usb port on your computer and then downloading Garmin Communicator. If that does not help then try contacting Garmin. I will attach a link to Garmin customer support. thanks for using FixYa

Please see this link for troubleshooting info. Too much info to type here. This is a common problem. Mostly caused by a blown speaker, bad headphone jack or wrong setting. From experience, its usually caused by a blown voice coil in the speaker.

The Nuvi does not run off of +12V!!! It runs off of +5VDC. There is no internal fuse. I'm afraid you have fried your Nuvi,

Plug and go, but premium services like live traffic may be subscription based but are optional. The only other cost would be map updates.
