Try this for hard reset .
Turn off Garmin device. Press down on bottom right corner of the touchscreen [ Don't let go ] , and then power on the GPS unit. You should be prompted whether do you really want to erase all user data, or asked if do you really want to start up in maintenance mode. Press “Yes” to reset (warning: all data will be erased and lost, so backup before proceeding) or enter maintenance mode.

Garmin neuvi
I suggest u remove as much stored information as u can, the memory is full or close to it, remove things like recently found and as many Favorites as possible, clean up all unused out of date information. if it comnytinues to act up it will need to go back to Garmin for service most likley
Forget passwds
Take the unit to the location at which you first entered the password. The unit will unlock and you can change the password to something easier to remember.
Garmin 350 screen dim

I have a garmin nuvi gps and my sone lock it now
Take it to where your son locked it and it will automatically unlock. If not, you have to send it to Garmin with the original receipt and they will unlock it for you. There may be a service charge for this. If you don't have the original receipt, they will not unlock it.
My garmin 350nuvi will not acquire sattelites
Make sure to flip your antenna horizontally or 90 degrees and not vertically or 180 dgrees. I see to many people try to use their older nuvi this way and it does not function well.
Try also updating your unit with the latest firmware from Garmin, this helps sometimes.
You may have moved to a location that is far away from the last location your Garmin nuvi 350 was last use, try to keep your unit on for 30 minutes or more to see if it will acquire GPS sattelites.
Last, certain vehicles have shielded windshields and GPS does not work well with these windshield, this can be eaisly verify by simply taking your nuvi 350 out of your vehicle and turn it on with a clear view to the sky, if that still does not work, it could be a defective GPS receiver or GPS connection in which case you should consider sending it in to Auto Nav 2000 Plus, Inc in San Jose CA or Garmin.
You may also consider replacing your nuvi 350 with a newer model nuvi with fresher map.
Good luck
TRYING TO CHANGE THE HOME LOCATION ON MY GARMIN TO
I just solved this problem. The antenna thing has to be up. It is the square area on the back that you can open up. After I opened mine, it immediately showed my home address on the map. Hope this helps you.
HELLO I JUST BOUGHT A GARMIN NUVI 350 FROM A PAWN
Garmin Lock works by using either a 4 digit pin code or by taking the unit back to a preset security location. Although Garmin warn that this should NOT be the user's home address, that's what it normally is. If you know where the last owner lived then you can try going to that location to see if it unlocks, but if you knew that piece of information you could just ask the last owner...
It came from a pawn shop though, so it's very unlikely that you know who the last owner was or where he/she lived.
There is no other way to unlock your unit without sending the unit back to Garmin. There's a charge for the service and you'll be asked to provide evidence that you own the unit; in practice it's going to be cheaper to buy a similar brand new Garmin model. All I can suggest is that you try to get a refund from the pawn shop (unlikely!) or sell it to another unsuspecting person.
Sorry, but Garmin Lock is deliberately difficult to overcome otherwise it wouldn't be much use as an anti-theft deterrent.
