I am trying to set
To get your wirless password (wep or wpa key) you can log-in to your router by typing in 192.168.2.1 in your address bar (Where you would type www.google.com)
After that you should a a page that resembles the one below:
Click the Security button on the side under wireless.
Next you will get a log-in page the password should be blank unless someone else set up the router.
Now you will see a page like the one below:
un-check the Obscure PSK box and that will show you the password needed to connect to wireless.
Hope this helps.

I think wireless is not broadcasting or set to invisible. You need to go into the web-interface in the Belkin. typically you get here by
HTTP://192.168.1.1 but it shows in the small booklet
also the pass is in the booklet. If teh pass is lost reset the router as mentioned in the booklet
pls let me know if it worked or that you get at least in the web interface
thanks

When I plug the power adapter into the router it
I have not come across this particular problem but I am wondering if there is a capacitor leaking inside. If you are at all technical, and have access to a soldering iron, open up the router and have a look. Capacitors are usually connected to the board standing up, look kind of like a small battery. If you see one which has signs of leakage or the top of which has swollen (no longer flat) then you can replace it with one of the same value. If you are not technically minded I would replace the unit.
I would probably replace it anyway and maybe have it as a project to fix. Its always useful to have a spare.
Hope this helps.

To reset the Belkin back to the default settings -
Press and hold the pinhole RESET button at the back of the router and thenpower for at least 15 secs. Then release the RESET button.
Connect a LAN cable from Belkin to your laptop/computer's LAN port, open abrowser on your laptop/computer and enter the Belkin's configuration URL.
http://192.168.2.1

HOW TO CONNECT MY NEW
Theencryption key secures your data from unauthorized access.
The router's password is a Passphrase or the WEP or WPA orWPA2 encryption key.
The Passphrase generates the WEP or WPA or WPA2 encryptionkey and this is in the router's wireless settings.
To connect to your wireless router, configure the router'swireless settings ie SSID, plus the WPAor WPA2 encryption key and then configure wireless cards in the laptops and orcomputers with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops and desktopcomputers can communicate with your wireless router.

Hi i wanted to add
In order to get your router back to the original settings, you must push
in the reset button (usually on the back of the router) for somewhere
between 10 and 30 seconds depending on the router. You may need a pin or
something small to push in the button, because it can be recessed. Once
you have reset the router, the username and password will be changed to
the defaults, admin and password, respectively. One thing you must
remember is that resetting the router will change all of the router
settings back to the factory settings. This means you will lose all of
the changes you made since you got the router. Make sure to write down
any things you've changed, so you can change them back after the reset.
Also, I recommend updating to the latest firmware after the reset.
If you need more help post back!
Thumbs and testimonial are welcome!

Dear technical assistance:
I need your
Greetings,
You have a Version 1 (V1000) router, and you cannot use Version 5 hardware firmware on it. That's why you received this error. You always have to use the latest version of the V1000 firmware if it has something you need.
Now, after factory reset, settings go back to defaults. If you were connecting wirelessly, you just changed your security key and maybe your encryption method as well. Try plugging directly into the switch on the router and access the web gui at 192.168.2.1 again and reconfigure your settings.

I have a Belkin Wireless
If you do not see a wireless network when you try to connect a device, log in to your router and check the setting under Wireless > Channel and SSID. The checkbox for broadcast SSID needs to be checked. If it is not, check it then click Apply changes.

HELLO MY NAME IS JOSEPHINE
These units tend to do that if they overheat.
Try finding a cooler location for the unit and see if that solves the issue.
Make sure it has good ventilation.

I bought a Belkin 'Play'
Use an Ethernet cable from the CLEAR modem into the WAN (or 'Internet') port on the Belkin.
Take a close look at the 8 coloured wires at each end of the Ethernet cable.
The 8 wires must be coloured in the _same_ order at both ends.
Be sure that you have a 'CAT-5' or 'CAT-5E' cable, not a 'CAT-3' cable, which is much slower, over long distances.
Use another Ethernet cable from one of the (three? four?) 'LAN' ports on the Belkin to the network-port on your computer. Again, check that you have a "straight-through" cable, not a "cross-over" cable.
Turn the CLEAR modem off.
Turn the Belkin off.
Turn your computer off.
Turn the CLEAR modem on, and wait until its lamps settle-down to a consistent pattern.
Turn the Belkin on, and wait until its lamps settle-down to a consistent pattern.
Turn your computer on, and let it boot.
You now should have Internet access.
Note that the router "dynamically" shares the Internet connection.
If there are 4 'LAN' ports, then each of the LAN ports gets as much speed as it needs;
you do not have a 25/25/25/25 split, unlike cutting-up an apple-pie to feed 4 people.
Run a "speed-test" on your computer, and you should be getting as much speed as you are paying for. Having the Belkin in the "middle" of your network should *NOT* slow-down the speed-test at all.
