Press the mute/program button, then press the caller ID-volume button to select handset setup. Next press caller ID-volume until you get to Default settings. Use the caller ID-volume button to select 1yes. This will return the phone to the factory settings and for took care of the blinking blue light, however you will loose any custom setting or numbers you entered.

Try looking underneath the console of the answering machine. You must turn the answerer on on most machines and underneath there may be a switch to determine how many rings before it picks up as well.

Your ringer has been switched off..to solve this press the menu button(mute in most of the sets)and press it until you see the option ringer press + to change it to off and then press menu again until you see the main screen...Thats all..

I had the same problem. I went to each handset and pushed the talk button. After I got a dial tone, I pushed it again to stop the dial tone. The message went away.

I would assume this could have been a product that was returned to the company that you purchased it from. Follow these instructions. 1. 1. Disconnect power from the base by pulling the plug out of the back of the unit. 2. Press and hold the Page button and while holding the Page button reconnect the power. 3. Continue to hold the Page button until the charge/in use light flashes rapidly. 4. Release the Page button. 5. Press and release the page button on the base once. All handsets are de-registered and HANDSET NEEDS REGISTRATION shows in the display. Then From the Handset Setup Menu: 1. Press the caller ID-volume ( 6 or 5) button to scroll to the REGISTRATION sub-menu. 2. Press the mute/program button to enter the menu. REGISTRATION 1YES 42NO - - -shows in the display. The default setting is 2NO. 3. Use the touch-tone pad to select 1 for YES or 2 for NO. Or use the caller ID-volume ( 6 or 5) button to scroll to 1YES or 2NO. 4. If you select YES, press the mute/program button. HOLD BASE PAGE FOR 5 SECONDS, THEN PRESS HANDSET PROGRAM shows in the display. (Your handset should be held near the base during registration process.) 5. Press and hold the page button on the base unit until the charge/in use indicator flashes. Press the handset mute/program button. REGISTERING shows in the display. HANDSET X REGISTERED shows in the handset display, where X is the handset number. You may now rename your handset. (Refer to Step 3 & 4 of Handset Name Section) NOTE: IF you are re-registering the handset through the handset menu; to rename your handset you must go to the Handset Name Section and start from the beginning step. I understand that you have tried the registation process. Sometimes with electronics, you have to start from ground 0, before it will work correct again. That will be because the static was at the callers line, not at your end. At this time of year it is water in junction boxes at the caller's residence. If it was on every call, it would be down to your connections.

Remove all the phones on the system. Remove all the handset batteries. Plug in one old style corded phone to the main phone jack, it is normally the one closest to the front door. Do you have dial tone? If not, it is your Telco. If you have a dial tone, plug all the other phones in testing for a dial tone as you go.

If you mean the long-life lithium backup battery for the corded 2-line GE 2-9421 (A indicating the sales region), that is a 3V Lithium battery. The part number 5-1923 appears to be a common CR2032 coin cell battery. These are used as backup batteries for Eraseable Programmable ROM on many devices, including computers.. try setting the original time on the machine correctly all recorded data is set from that original time setting
