How to gateway ping

The first thing you to check is to see if you are able to ping through your computer firewall. This link will help you check this.

How to allow ping (ICMP Echo) request through Windows 7 Firewall

Next you will need to know what the IP address of you Gateway is. If you do not know what it is the link below will help you find out what your Gateway IP address is.

I have a belkin

hi, i have had the same thing, with my mate computer. you need to set-up a username (tom or any name) plug a usb memory stick go to configure internet connection and it should load those setting. but you will need to get a code from you server. ring on the phone. if this don't work you may need service pack 3 microsoft. somtimes if you switch OFF the computer take out the card (s) ALWAYS PULL OUT THE MAIN POWER AND WAIT 10 SECONDS TO DISAPATE ANY POWER IN THE CARDS switch your computer ON LEAVE TO IDLE then SWITCH IT OFF PULL MAIN POWER replace internet card and try again there is a bit in there that conflicks with IRQ and COM PORTS. somtimes these argure. these may ask if you want internet connection COM PORT 2 / 3 etc, etc, gerry

Trying to install my Belkin router and my DSL provider wont help

Connect Router - Computer (Wired )

Step 1 : Open RSP By typing 192.168.2.1 on the address Bar of internet Explorer

Step 2 : On the Left Hand side click LAN Settings

Step 3 : Leave the Password Blank and click submit

Step 4 : Change the IP Into 192.168.3.1

Step 5 : Wait for a Minute

Step 6 : Type 192.168.3.1 on the Address Bar of internet Explorer

Step 8 : On the left side click on Connection Type

Step 9 : Choose connection type as dynamic

Step 10 : Click Next

Step 11 : Dont type any host name ,,Click Apply changes

Step 12 : Now Connected Modem - Router ( Connect it to the Yellow Slot )

Step 13 : Check the Lights

Step 14 : If the internet light is on then you will get the internet

Step 15 : If it is not ON

Step 16 : Choose the connection type as PPPoE

Step 17 : Type your user name and password , Retype the Password

Step 18 : Dont Type Any other Details

Step 19 : Click Apply changes

I think you may need to change the wireless channel number or you need to update the firmware of your belkin wireless router. In order to change the wireless channel number you need to access belkin default page. you can refer this Change Belkin Wireless Channel number and SSID

wireless light red in colour says that there is no wireless association between computer and the router...

The wireless light is flashing red..what does this mean?

The Problem is this :: "Wifi protected setup on the router is Enabled "

Connect Router - Computer (Wired)

Open router Setup by typing http://192.168.2.1 on the address bar of your web browser (Internet Explorer)

On the left under wireless Click Wi - Fi Protected Setup (WPS)

leave the password Blank And click Submit

Disable it and click apply changes

On the left under wireless click security

Select the Security mode as WPA

Type the password that you want in the blank box for pre shared key (PSK)

Click Apply changes

On the left under wireless click channel and SSID

Change the channel to 6 , Change the SSID to a different name ( Make sure it is not the name that you used before)

Click apply changes

Unplug the Power cord from the router

Restart the computer

Plug the Power Cord back to the Router

Now try to connect to the new network you just setup

Cannot connect to the firmware

You will have to update the firmware manually

Goto the website www.belkin.com/support

Click Routers

Under No 1 : Select N / G / B.... As given in the router

Under No 2 : Select the Model Number of the router

Under No 3 : Select the Version Number

Click next

Click on the link For firmware update ..... Download the appropriate version as your router

Save the file

on the address bar of internet explorer type http://192.168.2.1 and hit enter

On the left under utilities click firmware update

Leave the password blank and click submit

Click browse ,,, Locate the file you had downloaded and click update

Click OK For confirmation

Internet keeps getting disconnected.Computer needs rto restart

there is nothing to do with adapter... you need to check with some other laptop to isolate where is the issue...

if your laptop works fine without dropping connection then get a replacement for your belkin adapter...

if your laptop also looses connection, then you need to check your wireless router...
