Kodak EASYSHARE 5300 All-In-One InkJet Printer - Page 9 Questions & Answers
Poor print quality. No
Mostly, printer cartridge error occurs when the printer head is unable to identify the cartridge properly. And the basic reason behind this is that the cartridge is improperly attached.
To reattach the cartridge check the following steps :
turn on the lid of the printer and then remove the cartridge from the printer head.
Check the cartridge to make sure that there are no scratches or other damaged parts that can contribute to a printer cartridge error report.
Take note that the cartridge should not be left open for more than 30 minutes; otherwise the ink will start to dry up and the cartridge will get clogged.

Clean the print head then print a demo sheet.
- Verify that inkjet paper is loaded in the paper trays.
- On your desktop, start the KODAK All-in-One Home Center, then select the Help [?] icon.
- From the Help menu, select Maintenance, then select Print head Cleaning. The On/Off light flashes green during the cleaning procedure.

If the Demo print is bad- IE: no black, blurry print etc., then you may need to replace the print head:http://www.kodak.com/global/plugins/acrobat/en/service/manuals/AiOPrinters/printhead/AUR1780-9_UE_RevC.pdf

My kodak 5300 black ink keep saying replace black
Black printer ink in kodak Printer may fail to be recognized by the printer. Most times an error message will be sent indicating that something is wrong with the black print cartridge. Sometimes the printer may accept to print with the black ink, but the printouts may have horizontal lines and very illegible letters. In such a case a manual cleaning of the print head should be carried out. In doing the manual cleaning, one should spray Windex heavily on paper towel and wipe off the surface of the print head.

It sounds like the ink carriage has indeed failed. Is there any chance you think it may be under warranty still? This is definitely a physical failure on the part of the printer. If you happened to purchase the device with a major credit card (not
a debit card) there is a good chance it may still be under the free
extended warranty most credit cards place on electronics. Please
contact your credit card company to inquire if they do this, and they
will be able to file the claim and get you a refund for the printer.
Otherwise though you are going to want to replace it unfortunately. I can definitely recommend a good replacement if you want.

How do I remove old printhead and install a new one?
I did not see the bulls eye, as there was not one there when we bought the printer;
But just get a flashlight, there will be a little and I do mean little button at the very to of the tray. you almost have to put your head into the printer to see it. Push that button up firmly but not try not to be to rough with it, lets face it this is a sensitive printer.
Pushing this button up will release the tray, and you will be able to pull it out.
I have a kodak 5300
Hi,
You can download the installation software from manufacturer's website by clicking this
link
Hope this solves your problem. Thanks for using
FixYa.
HIGH DO YOU KNOW WHERE
Sure I do! You can find your printer software at Kodak's website. Find "downloads" and click on it. Then enter your printer name and model number and choose your operating system and follow the prompts from that point and your good to go!
Printer will not print. New black ink cartridge.
Printers that execute high quality images cannot (actually will not) allow printing when the other printer cartridges are almost gone or gone. This is a built in defense against the printer heads drying out and much servicing and expense.
You simply do not own a printer of any kind and allow the color cartridges or black cratridges to run out (or even get close) without having th replacement cartridge at hand for immediate installation.
This is how the printer manufacturer protects itself from costly warranty repairs and lawsuits.
Go immediately and buy the color ink cartridge and install it.
Black is the presence of all colors
White is the absence of all color
Your printer must draw in tiny increments from the color certridges to keep the heads functioning when you predominantly use black printed documents.
Science strikes again.
For God's sake, please do NOT leave me 2 thumbs up and trash my rating incrememntally because you aren't happy about this.

TheSelkie
