Cartridge jam in my Kodak EASYSHARE Series 3
The print head must be in the up position to remove the cartridge. If you cannot get it to do this by pushing buttons or unplugging the unit, you can do it by turning a gear inside the unit. This requires partial disassembly of the unit.
First remove two
screws from back of unit, then pull up on top of unit, unplug two
ribbon cables from circuit board
and remove top. Then unplug two remaining ribbon cables from circuit
board, and three screws holding circuit board. Lift circuit board and
fan/fan-holder as one piece. You do not need to disconnect the fan wires.
The print head heat sink and carrier frame are now visible (large aluminum piece in the center). The gears and stepper motors are on the side opposite from the green cartridge release button. The gears near the front operate the paper feed mechanism. The gears in the back move the print head. By turning the large white plastic gear farthest toward the side and rear (driven by a stepper motor), the print head will move up and down. The gear should turn easily by pushing on the teeth with a small screwdriver. If it starts tuning harder, it is probably at the end of its travel. Turn the gear until the print head is up far enough to release the cartridge. There is a tab on the print head frame just above the green release button on the inside of the unit. When the print head is up, there is a space between the tab and the green button allowing the button to be released.
If you need more visibility, the entire printer frame can be removed from the plastic outer shell by removing 3 screws on the bottom of the unit. Note the position of the loose plastic piece in the front of the unit (for reassembly). It has a small tab that keeps the front door closed. You can leave the print head in the up position when reassembling the unit. It will automatically reposition when the unit is plugged in. Don't forget to put in a cartridge before plugging in.

Kodak printer dock series 3
The problem is most likely a broken plastic lever on the end of the
shaft that moves the print head. The plastic lever is keyed to the
shaft by a flat on the shaft. The plastic has a tendency to split at
the edge of the flat, resulting in the lever slipping on the shaft.
This in turn results in one side of the print head not contacting the
paper with sufficient pressure. The other end of the shaft has a thick
plastic sector gear which is much less likely to break.
I fixed
mine by making a clamp from a metal spacer (made from split tube about
1/8 inch long) and force fitting it over the part of the plastic lever
that fits on the metal shaft (on the end towards the inside of the
unit). There is just enough clearance to do this without hitting the
print head frame.
To remove the plastic lever, first remove two
screws from back of unit, then pull up on top of unit, unplug two
ribbon cables from circuit board
and remove top. Then unplug two remaining ribbon cables from circuit
board, and three screws holding circuit board. Lift circuit board and
fan/fan-holder as one piece. Finally, disengage tab on plastic retainer
on end of metal shaft, rotate tab straight up and lift shaft up and to
the side (may require a little wiggling). The plastic lever slides off
the metal shaft.
I cant remove cartridge
Hi Cort,Is there any paper error on the printer? Is the paper light on?If so,please clear the paper error before attempting to remove the color cartridge! The cartridge may have locked into place because of the paper error. If its flashing red,it means the cartridge is not full seated. You may have to push it until it clicks into place. Make sure the paper light is off before proceeding.
- Open the cartridge door, push up on the green lever and then slide the cartridge out.
Hope this helps. Thanks! Please rate this answer.
I have a printer dock
Hello, Henry.
After you have taken a picture with your C360, placing it on the printer dock and pressing "Print", does the copy screen appear. ? If not, any error messages ?
Has it ever worked and you are now experiencing a problem ?
Have you tried the dock with other cameras successfully ?
Thanks.
