I have a furuno NaveNet
Go to Furuno's website and you should be able to download the manual. There are also DVDs you can buy but I felt they were all too general to be of any help, so I wouldn't waste my money on those.
Good day,
I just bought a
If you just have the transducer and no network sounder youre pretty much dead in the water. along with your transducer, you will need either a BBFF1 or DFF1 sounder. Since they operate on a network they will have to be configured depending on your setup.
I have a Furuno Radome
That is a Furuno 1823C Radar -

No Sirius Weather Hot Page ICON
You will need to add the hotpage. do it like you're customizing your hotpages. Now if you're using Navionics then you will need to convert your unit to C-map. I know of a company in MD that can do this for you. The conversion process will remove your radar heading alignment and tuning setting though. Try www.mid-shore-electronics.com. They will be able to help you. They help me out alot.
I can not seem to
you will have to designate which sentences to send to the AP20 from the navnet under port options. also make sure the AP20 is set to read the correct port to accept the information such as gps1 or 2 or nav1 or nav2
Navnet VX2 System won,t power up, have voltage
Remove all connectors aside from the power cable then attempt to power up. If the unit turns on, it may be your radar if you had one one it originally. If so plug the radar cable back into it with it off and try powering up. If it does not, then thats the issue. the Radar or your cable.
GP1920C & BBWX1 SIRIUS WEATHER
You need to convert your Navnet to C-map. You can not run both on the same unit. Mid-Shore Electronics can help you out with this. Check out their website in the tech corner.
May i upgrade furuno 1920 gps/ploter with radar
If it has a round radar plug in the back then the answer is yes and it already has radar support. However to upgrade your unit to the latest software you will need a dealer for that. It's a very tricky process and if not done properly, you can ruin the bootloader programming that starts the unit. I know of a dealer that does this if you want to check in with them. You can even send them the unit. Try www.mid-shore-electronics.com.

are you in salt water?
yes furuno can fix and reseal, but saltwater inside can not be stopped and you should cut your losses. If you wish, place a desiccant pack inside the unit. that is one of those little silica gel packs that you got with the christmas presents. Be very careful and precise with the rubber seal and you may be able to seal it back up. Temperature cycling can draw in humid air which can not escape, so open it, put a couple of desiccant packs in there, or ship it to Furuno. If the board is corroded, forget it, the board costs too much!
Furuno Radar Model 1833C
You have two things that orient the radar, on is called heading (or bearing) alignment. This is where you aim your radar so that a target comes up at 12 o'clock when dead ahead. Access this mode by pressing and holding menu duing power on, and go in to Installation Mode, radar setup, next page, align heading. I have posted a "tip" on this, search for VX2 radar alignment.
After this is done, North up is accomplished by having a magnetic input (fluxgate compass or autopilot). Calibration of this compass varies, but if it is accurate, then all should line up nicely.
I would like to purchase
No, you will use the appropriate Simrad Drive unit such as an HLD350. It comes in long and short throw and split versions, and dual ram versions. Better to discuss on the phone probably. 847-746-0100 or email

Reinstall the operating software.
The unit should probably go to Furuno.
Try operating it with only a GPS connected (no radar, no network). If this resolves it, it is almost certainly software. It could be low voltage or failing mother board.
