scanner is unable to reach home position within allocated time. you need to remove the glass platten and OIL the rails/drive shaft clearing any dust / rubbish as you go also clean the underside of the glass while its out. If this doesnt clear it then you will need a new scanner driver PCB/scanner motor ( replaced as 1 item)
