you might disconnect all power and reconnect to perform a power on reset. Then if the switch that detects the section is open or closed is working properly, then the circuit board that reads the switch is defective. Replace components as needed. the switch should be checked with a volt/ohm meter.

Remove the Compact Flash Cover. Located Right side next to where the network cable is installed. Remove the cover, using a small screw driver or small plastic stick depress black button gently. Called the Warm Restart switch. When "." appears at the center on the left-hand side of the screen, enter "3" from the via 10-Key Pad. Enter the 8-digit service code and touch [END]. Fuser issue (Hot Part). To reset. On the right side of the machine just below the scanner section (The part with the big glass) is a cover next to where you connect the Ethernet cable. Remove the cover, with the machine on use a small screw driver and gently depress the small black switch. The machine is going to go thru some screens when you see the screen with the copiers on it to the left on the screen in the middle you will see a "." when that is displayed press 3. The code will come back but now press the Utility/Counter button, you should see a button that says Maintenance Mode press that, see Trouble Reset press that and the machine will again will go thru warm up procedure, you will see the "." DO Nothing! The machine should go to "Ready to Copy" if the code comes back. Have a technician look at it DO NOT CONTINUE TO RESET the code is for the Hot Part called the FUSER. It can catch on fire! Open the right side door and check for proper insertion of Paper dust remover beside transfer roller. Not proper inserted Paper dust remover cause paper to jumping register roller.

CAUSE: PU1 has failed.

f8 is function 8 in the tech rep mode which is the atdcadjustment. to get into service mode go to utility>meters>details and press STOP,0,0,STOP,0,1. Then got into FUNCTION to find F8. If you are doing this because of an error code and/or maintenance you must first go into tech rep mode>counters>special parts counter> and reset drum life then power off machine, replace drum AND developer, restart and do the F8.

Try doing a factory reset should return you back to your default settings and should remove any locks off of the IP address
