Our brake on a Bugaboo

Hi,

This sounds like the mechanism within the brake (white brake on the handle bar) has broken inside. I would suggest that you contact www.bugaboo.com who generally will give the parts for this repair free.

Hope this helps.

Your handle extension locks need new shims. I use to have a good tip section on this site but they mixed up or lost all my photos. I now have a face book page called bugaboo repair guy check it out.www.facebook.com/BugabooRepairGuy

The lock on the brakes

I just repaired my Bugaboo Chameleon brake. If the white brake lever doesn't "lock" i.e stays in its forward position, locking the brake you need to disassemble the brake handle housing. Open the black plastic cover by unscrewing the two screws. The handle should come off with a little tweaking. Remove the brake wire. The "button" where you are supposed to release the brake is actually a sort of cogwheel that stops the lever from springing back. Sometimes the cogwheel gets too pushed in the handle. You can tell if it has done so by observing the 8 small grooves that are out of place. Simply take a small flat object like a flat screwdriver and pry the button out. It should pop out as it is spring loaded. Now put it back in its position but TURN IT so it fit in the grooves. Put it back in the black handle, by reversing the disassembly process. Easy!Best Regards,Fred, Stockholm, Sweden(Sorry about the English, hope you understand)

The foam is a product called neoprene tubing and can be found at specialist rubber product suppliers. Google a local supplier. Changing the grab bar rubber is easy just use hot soapy water but the handle bar is a problem as the foam is fitted before assembly and it would require disassembly to replace. This is not easy as the handle is riveted on and has internal parts to operate the handle locks. You can buy a special glue for repairing wetsuits to fix the split and stop it opening up further.

My Bugaboo Cameleon break is not working properly. . .

Hi maristel5679. I had the same problem. It's quite easy to fix yourself. There should be a small philips type screw holding the whole assembly onto the frame. Undo this and you will see the inner workings. You just have to realign the ratchet inside. Do this by taking off the whole thing. Be careful when you place it back on the frame as it could slip out of line again because of the tension in the brake line. Undo the tension by slackening the brake screw. replace the hand-brake, tighten the philips screw, then remember to tighten the brake back up. Hope I explained this clearly!! Good luck.

Hello Am having great difficulty reassembling

With the seat unit face down push down inside the lower leg unit with a screw driver, The white button should pop out. If it does not either the button is stuck or the locking splines on the outer sides of the button unit are not sliding freely into the spines of the outer ring. When you push down with the screwdriver your force only pushes the back of the button unit. It is the inner spring that has to move the white button and the locking splines so any burrs or roughness can stop its movement. www1.fixya.com/support/r7805137-fix_bugaboo_white_seat_buttons

The Quick release system for the front RHS wheel

The wheel is held by two plastic tabs at the top, you push them in to let the wheel unit slide down and out of the chassis. They are prone to being damaged by catching under car bumpers , etc. There is no way to repair these that is not obvious thus devaluing the stroller. Only option is to buy a new wheel. A google should find a local agent who can order one to save on shipping costs, Other wise go to www.bugaboo.com> or an internet store like this www.babycare.nl/bugaboo-cameleon-front-wheel-p-2456.html
