Please tell me the procedure for using a self
on most modern ovens there is a button for cleaning and some have a lever on the front door you have to move from left to right to lock the door first. If you do not have a lever yours more than likely is an auto lock door. You push the oven clean button and set time by pushing the up button on the temperature this will automatically turn it on for a minimum amount of time usually 2 hours and if you keep scrolling up it will go up to 6 hours. Once you start the cleaning mode it has to run its course and the oven will not unlock until the oven cools down to a safe temperature. have a nice day

Either have bad temperature sensor or a bad control. Sensor is cheap, so replace it first and see.
Electric oven does not work
After a power failure, some models will automatically resume their
setting once the power is restored. On models with a clock, you must reset the clock. If the oven was in use, you must reset it by
pressing the CLEAR/OFF pad, setting the clock and resetting any cooking function.
To Set the Clock
The clock must be set to the correct time
of day for the automatic oven timing
functions to work properly. The time of day
cannot be changed during a timed baking
or self-cleaning cycle.
Touch the CLOCK pad twice.
Touch the + or – pads.
If the + or – pads are not touched within
one minute after you touch the CLOCK pad,
the display reverts to the original setting.
If this happens, touch the CLOCK pad and
reenter the time of day.
Touch the START/ON pad until the
time of day shows in the display. This
enters the time and starts the clock.
To check the time of day when the display is
showing other information, simply touch the
CLOCK pad. The time of day shows until another
pad is touched.
If you do not have the owner's use and care manual,

of your manual by clicking on your model #.
Once you have downloaded it, you can print it up.

Were the orange, white, and black wires hookup on
White is going to be your neutral which should be marked on the board. Black is always Line (voltage) which should also be marked (usually L1). Orange may be pilot but not sure. After connecting the other two see what is left. Hope this helps
Hotpoint RB747GJ electric stove. Extremely long preheat cycle
I went to one of my local appliance sales/service dealers and asked the question. They said it sounded like the baking element was starting to go, but would need to test it. They gave me the option of a service call or if I was handy and comfortable working with it, told me to cut the power at the circuit breaker and then remove the screws holding the element in place and bring it in to have the continuity tested. If the element tested bad, I would get a replacement element. When I removed the element, there was only one wire attached. The baking element tested fine and all I had to do was replace the broken wire connector. I had broken the wire connector when I lifted the element up to clean out the ash residue from the cleaning. it was easy to determine which wire went there since it was missing the connector. Total repair was less than $2 !
Burner Heating element doesn't heat
Check power to element with a voltmeter. If there is power, the element is bad. If not power, than switch or relay is likely faulty. You can also test them with an ohmmeter

Hi.
there are many variations of timers but if you select oven to on and press the timer buttons in turn one of them will reset the timer back to manual mode. It should click and the display should stop flashing and the oven should start.
If that fails then press two buttons in turn. if still no sucess then I am affraid it could be a timer failure.
If you need any further assistance please email me your details to

Hotpoint electic stove, the burners and the oven not working
Is there any sign of life? Does the oven light come on or does the clock work? Just for kicks, go and reset the breaker - it should be a double breaker for a 220V appliance - sometimes half will throw and still leave 110v that will run the light / clock.
