My Hotpoint RB757EH 5BB electric range started a high pitch beep with the error "Bad Line" flashing on the screen.

90 % of Hotpoint range problems will be a loose or broken wire either at terminal block were cord hooks up. check wires from block to stove the wire running up to elements and control board also check were range plugs into wall it may be loose and not getting good return. burners will work because there is no electronics involved just a infinite switch and coil burner oven has a computer board for operation. if you do not find the problem there then change control board defective relay or computer chip

I have a Hotpoint R B757 something behind the clock rattles, It's not the clock because I have it off? Could it be the relay or thermostat? Everything works.

This may be a silly answer but you might try to just take out the few screws from behind the top panel where the clock is and see what's loose behind there. Unplug the stove first of course.

Why doesn't new bottom element come on?

I don't know if this will help but I've had to replace heating elements a few times and once it didn't work after replacing the element. It turns out the short also caused one of my electrical wires connecting to the element to burn out as well. This may not be your same deal but make sure you check the wiring. You can also try using a voltage meter or tester to see if power is going to the replaced element. -hope this helps

Have you put a thermometer in the oven to make sure it is not heating. They will not always glow red if the oven is at temp.

No problem with hotpoint electric range til I went to start oven, breaker kept tripping & making a popping noise

From having a Hotpoint myself, I can think of 2 possibilities. Obvious answer would be electrical problem. If it trips the breaker you probably have a loose wire or a bad plugin socket. Did you buy a new "pigtail" plugin socket or did you use an old one when you got the stove? They say to buy a new one each time. If this is your first problem with this then your circuit can probably handle the load but see if the circuit that tripped says 30 or 40 amps. Also check to see if anything else is on that circuit besides your stove. There shouldn't be anything else on circuit. You may even have a bad circuit breaker but that seems less likely. Second possibility is a bad baking element at the bottom of stove or bad heating element on top. When mine went bad, it made loud popping noises and sparks were flying. After that, the rest of the stove worked but not the baking element. I had to replace it for about $50. My bet is on a loose wire. Be careful and unplug everything before you check! See if it's not fully plugged into the socket and see if the 3 or 4 wires coming from the thick plug wire are all tightly connected to your stove.

Can I remove the burner that is burned out and only use 3 burners to cook with, will this stop the popping & tripping the breaker?

You should do little more homework.. Yes you can remove the burner if it's the culprit and causes a short and tripping the breakers. If still trips after you remove it you should look into replacing the harness for that burner.

Burner light stays

you must sure is the burner contacts are o.k or the receptacle is faulty see the diagram 5c7250e3-ba3e-4b5d-944d-b7cdaa1cbc4f.gifb9fcce0a-595b-4298-aa22-aecec61be306.jpg. You must clean the receptacle, and see if some wires and loose or burn, and repair or replace. However you must sure too if the switches are o.k look for some loose wires or faulty wires and repair, or the switch are faulty test with VOM continuity see the diagram.911164c0-a3fc-4d92-8b45-f3946e75de93.gifGod bless you

OVEN DOESN'T HEAT

Hi

This means a loose/broken wire on the oven temp sensor or the oven temp. sensor itself is bad and should be replaced. To solve this issue test the oven temp. sensor, it should read between 1080-1120 ohms, if the rating is more then that and the door appears to be closing fine then it is the control board that is bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.
