How to extract batteries from an APC Smart UPS
greg milton, Hi, Did you get the top cover off of the "1400" battery back-up? How old were the batteries in the unit? My APC 1250 has two 12v 18ah units inside. It's best to replace batteries every 3 to 5 years! 12fixlouie

When UPS is shut down the lights go out on fron
The UPS has a fauly/problem.
If your UPS is approx. 600VA, then it is not a true UPS unit but a switch over type. When the mains power fails the UPS switches over to the battery and inverter in milli-secs to provide mains power.
If you turn off the mains supply and shut down your UPS, but you are still getting mains power, then there is a fault with the switch over circuit.
You need to get this unit serviced.

Apc 1400
Batteries in the UPS typically last 3 to 5 years and it depends upon several factors. including the number of times the unit must go on battery power and environmental conditions. There are usually several batteries in the UPS and while the battery voltage may show 13 volts, this may only be a float charge/voltage and a true indication of the battery voltage and condition requires the batteries to be tested under a load. There maybe one battery in a set of batteries that is faulty and causes the whole battery system to fail and indicate a battery fault.
The other possibility is the charging circuit may be faulty.

APC Smart-UPS 1400 no power
Better late than never...
The older Smart UPS models are peculiar in the way that they appear dead (will not power on) if the battery is completely bad.
Replace the battery, and the UPS should come back to life.

What software or cords do I need to get/run in order to get files to transfer to/from the NEC Mobilepro 770, or even get internet?
The NEC Mobilepro 770 is a legacy device that was released in the early 2000s and uses Windows CE as its operating system. Since the device is no longer supported, it may be challenging to find software and drivers that are compatible with modern operating systems like Windows 10. Here are some steps you can take to transfer files and connect to the internet:
- Get the necessary cables: You'll need a USB cable to connect the Mobilepro 770 to your Windows 10 PC. The cable should have a USB Type-A connector on one end and a mini-USB connector on the other.
- Install ActiveSync: ActiveSync is software that allows you to synchronize files between your Mobilepro 770 and your PC. Unfortunately, ActiveSync is no longer available for download from Microsoft, but you may be able to find an archived version of the software on the internet. Install ActiveSync on your Windows 10 PC and connect your Mobilepro 770 to your PC using the USB cable. If the device is recognized, you should be able to transfer files between the two devices.
- Connect to the internet: The Mobilepro 770 has a built-in Ethernet port that you can use to connect to a wired network. To connect to the internet, you'll need an Ethernet cable and a wired network connection. Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the Mobilepro 770's Ethernet port and the other end into your router or modem. You should be able to browse the internet using the Mobilepro 770's built-in web browser.
- Install additional software: The Mobilepro 770 comes with a basic set of software, but you may want to install additional software to make the device more useful. You can download and install software from the internet, but make sure it's compatible with Windows CE and the Mobilepro 770.
Keep in mind that the Mobilepro 770 is a legacy device, and its performance and capabilities may be limited compared to modern devices. It's also possible that some of the software and drivers you need may no longer be available or supported.
