How to reset security code for a 1997 mercedes benz c230
Check the manual for the security code for your vehicle. I'm pretty sure it's a 5 digit code. If you locate it, enter the code into your stereo. You may have to take it to a Mercedes dealer if you cannot find it. If you do have to take it to the dealer, pull the radio out and get the serial number from the side of the radio, the service tech will charge you big bucks if you make him do it. I hope this helps =)
Stereo stops dash display working
It sounds as though your stereo may be improperly wired, or perhaps there is a blown fuse or exposed wire causing a short. I would suggest checking the wiring diagram for your vehicle/stereo, or taking it to car audio store/ whomever installed the unit, and having a technician examine it. I hope this helps =)
Comes on then goes off
Could you provide a little more information as to the circumstances of the power loss? It could be a loose wire, crossed wire, a failing fuse, or inadequate power. Car CD players have 2 (two) power wires, one constant, and one connected to the ignition so that the CD player powers off when you turn off the vehicle, if you only have one connected (or one improperly connected) this could be the cause of your problem. I hope this helps =)
2010 VW CC factory stereo amp popping sound
If the amplifier itself is making the popping sound I suggest you disconnect it immediately, as it could be an electrical short within the amp. If the popping sound is actually coming from the speakers, it could be due to a crossed wire, blown amp channel, or blown speaker. If you posses the technical know-how, you can test the amp channel and speaker by connecting a different speaker to the channel responsible for the popping sound. If the new speaker makes the same popping noise then it is most likely a blown channel. I hope this helps =)
I put a new stereo in my 1990 Suburban and it blew
Aftermarket stereos are designed to work within the power specifications for most vehicles, if you are experiencing blown fuses I would suggest re-checking the stereo wiring for a crossed, exposed, or improper connection. If you have ruled out all of these then you can install a capacitor to power your system more efficiently. Most car audio stores sell these and are installed between the connection to the head unit and battery. I hope this helps =)
What is the color code for the stereo in a 2004
I'm sorry Brando, but I do not know what you are referring to by "color code" for the stereo. Factory stereo? Wiring harness color coding for an aftermarket stereo? If you could provide more information about the problem you are having I'd be glad to help you, Thanks...
NEED WIRING DIAGRAM
If you are referring to installation and have the aftermarket wiring harness, The wires should be color coded. RED, YELLOW, & BLACK are power, ignition and ground. These should correspond to matching wires on the back of the head unit (CD player). Match the colored wires from the back of the unit to the same colored wires on the aftermarket harness and then connect them using wire connectors/wire nuts. Once you have them into the correct order the aftermarket harness should connect into the harness in your vehicle. I hope this answers your question =)
