If you have a multimeter, try checking the speakers and speaker wires for shorts and/or grounds. Make sure your speaker wire has no bares spots. If the speakers and speaker wires all check out good, you may have a bad internal output ic.

Try disconnecting your battery, reconnecting it, and resetting your stereo. If that doesn't work, the constant power (yellow wire) or ignition wire (red wire) may have come in contact with ground or isn't properly connected. Make sure everything is connected properly and try resetting your stereo. If it is still flashing "protect", the unit needs servicing Contact JVC Customer Care Center at: 800-252-5722.

This answer is found on page 16 of manual. goto BT mode and Press and hold [MENU]. Select [BLUETOOTH]-> [DELETE PAIR]->[PHONE NAME]-> [DELETE YES]->DELETED!

I suggest you ensure the ground is made to a sensible ground point and the supplies are also good and the antenna is also properly grounded and then monitor the supply voltage and the current consumed by the radio until it begins to distort. If the voltage and current remain steady the fault is either local interference or inside the radio, probably in the tuner. If the current climbs and the voltage remains steady the fault is likely in the audio section...

Did you verify it has 12 volts on it's main power wire? Make sure the ground connection is good?

I had the exact same problem on my unit the other day. I spent a couple of hours trying to fix it. Did the reset button button behind the faceplate and the I couldn't get the unit on at all. I found the if you push the power/source button as soon as you put the unit on the power would turn back on, but buttons still wouldn't work. After trying several different combination, I started hitting the UP arrow button (which is the program buttons) as fast I could for about 10 seconds and the unit started working. Might have been lucky, but it worked for me.

If you have a JVC in your car now, you will need the extraction keys that were given with the radio. (thin sheet metal keys) that allow radio to be removed. They can be purchased by calling JVC once you know model or reach out to installer who might have them available.

1. • 1Remove the faceplate around your stereo. Slip a flat object under the edge and gently pry it up. A flat-head screwdriver works well. There will be clips holding the faceplate in place, so feel for them. You may need to move your faceplate up or down to slide it out of position.
   • 2 Find and remove any screws holding the stereo in place.
   • 3 Slide the stereo component out far enough to see the label on top of the stereo. Write down the model and serial numbers of your car stereo component.
   • 4 Locate your VIN number at the base of the front window, driver side. If you can't read your VIN off the window, you will have it on your proof of insurance and title as well. Write it down.
   • 5 Locate your car manufacturer's toll-free Customer Service number and call them. Click on the link in the Resource section of this article and find your car manufacturer's toll-free number.
   • 6 Call the number and let customer service know you need your stereo code and have the vehicle's VIN number, as well as the model and serial numbers off the stereo. They will provide you with the code. If you are unsure how to input the code, be sure to ask for support at this time.

when i go to connect my power supply nothing happens the jvc will not turn on, but when i connect my old pioneer it works, what is going on?

The best advice for a quick solution is for you to look at your fuse box. It should indicate right there what fuse is for the radio. If not, look at all of the fuses and replace the one that is blown.
