Velocity Micro Cruz Reader R101 Tablet PC - Page 2 Questions & Answers
It wont turn on
When a tablet is completely dead you will need to charge it from a wall plug and not a computer. Also try holding the power button for 20 seconds, it is possibly frozen.
How do you restor you
The easiest way to restore the Cruz Reader to factory defaults is to update to the newest firmware which can be downloaded from
here. The instructions for doing the upgrade are also explained on the link above.
This will revert everything back to original condition leaving any information on the internal and external memory cards intact. If you are looking to clear those as well you can do so by formatting the cards by going to Settings->Storage (might say SD card)->Unmount->Format. You can also take the cards out and put them in your computer and use the computer to format them.
The process is pretty of upgrading the firmware is pretty simple even though it might be intimidating. Let me know if you have any more questions
Hope this helps

Locked myselfout. Dont remember password can I reset?
You can try pressing the factory reset button (with a paperclip, most likely) when powering up. This should clear out all settings and software and give you a new beginning. If not, contact Manufacturers tech support. Good Luck
My ereader is frozen on
Sorry to hear your having problems with with your Cruz Reader. The simplest way to fix this is to upgrade your firmware. The update can be downloaded from
here. After downloading copy it to the root (not in a folder) of an SD card ensuring that the file is named 'PD_INX7E_ENG_6410POP.ZIP'
.
Now remove the back of the reader. This can be done by prying with your fingernails around the edge. If you've never removed the back before it can be a little difficult because there's some adhesive holding the back on as well as the clips around the edge.
Now unplug the battery. It's the small white plug in the lower left hand corner next to the battery (large gray thing taking up most of the device). Leave it unplugged for five seconds before plugging it back in. Replace back cover and now you're ready to flash the new firmware.
Insert your SD card into the external SD slot on the device. With the device off, press and hold the volume up button. While continuing to hold the volume up button, press and hold the power button. Continue holding both buttons. The 'Cruz' screen will come up and then an android screen with a status meter will come up. Now release both buttons and let the update apply. When it's done the device will reboot and should start normally.
This does clear the internal memory of the device, so you will lose all the programs that you've installed. Any data on the internal SD card and external SD card will not be touched.
This should fix the problem that you're having. Let me know if you have any questions or any other problems.

My cruz tablet wont fully load the internet or keep an internet connection
THIS IS NOT A SOLUTION:
Anyone at all have a resolution for this issue? I bought this tablet for my granddaughter and I feel so bad that it won't load the internet! Just like the original poster said Click on the internet icon and it starts to load the google start screen then just as the progress bar on the top gets to the end POOF! It stops loading and goes right back to the 'desktop'. It is driving me crazy. I did a system restore and that did nothing. I tried removing all kinds of programs and that did nothing. VERY FRUSTRATING! I can't believe there are this many people having the same issue and to date no one still has an answer!
How does and android charger look like
A USB cable with a micro-USB connection at the phone or tablet...
You can plug the USB directly into your PC, get a car adapter with one or two USB ports, or a small outlet adapter with one or two usb ports.
I have a 7" Tesoar tablet and it worked great for a while and now the only thing it will do is turn off and on. When it's on it stays stuck on the white Tesoar screen.. Can I reset somehow? It will no
If a factory reset to default won't work, which it looks like it won't, I think one course of action is to open the back, disconnect the LI-ON battery, (it probably has a small, delicate three pin micro plug, so care is the operative word!), wait about 10 seconds or so, then reconnect it, and see if it then powers up properly.
That is what I did with my T310 when it went into a state of limbo.
Word of caution, opening the back will more than likely invalidate any warranty you have.
My cruz wont turn on after i reset it?
Most tablets are still in the factory settings so if u have a professional to look at it he might be able to turn it on and u could then have him look at the charge thing.
