check the rolers they may be dirty with paper dust, or you paper is damp

Fuser error means the the fuser (the part that heats up and "fuses" the toner onto the paper) is not heating up properly. This usually requires the fuser to be replaced. The memory received indicator is telling you that the machine has received a fax transmission. It can not print it out however because of the fuser error. If the fuser is replaced then the faxes in memory will be printed.

take the fuse out of the cartrige. will work without it.

open frot door take out the cartriges and clean pickup roller with sope.

make sure it is on fax mode. on the fornt pannel you will find a buttong fax mode.

if you toner is empty replace it.if you replaced it and it still say emty do the following

you will go in service mode.if you push menu agian scroll unterl you find cartridge egnor swich on fax off and on all will be ok

if you got a cortliss external phone on the fax.you use *9* if you pick it up and it is a fax. it will go back to the fax m/c and resive the fax.

if you toner is empty replace it.if you replaced it and it still say emty do the following

you will go in service mode.look for ignore toner put it on.if it still not working open the fax take out the cartridge. you will see ontop of the cardrige is a fuse. put a new on in put cartrige back. close the door for 5 sec. and take cartrigde out and remove the fuse. it should work then.

you have to cleaan all the gears. on the side and use a bit of oil.this is a commen problem form sf 5100

open tha adf and take the white roller out and clean the glass put the roller back and it sould be ok.

take the power out. hold the stop (red button) in and old it in put the power back. this is a factory reset.

check ring volume

I presume the machine has its own telephone line. Lift the handset and make a telephone call. Can they hear you ok? Can you hear them OK? If both ok then have them ring the fax and you answer it with the handset. Can they hear you ok? Can you hear them ok? or can you hear crackle on the line or any other strange high frequency noises? If you hear these noises then your telephone company will need to clean the line. Thats usually why this problem arises. the SF5100 was Samsungs best fax in my opionion. It did not suffer from any problems except wear and tear like all machines.

if you open the door you will se the fuserunit.
this is black and yellow.
on top of it is a small cover whit one screw.
under it is a thermostate loos it test it whit a maltimeter. must be closet not open.
if it is open drop it. if you shake it it must sound like samthing is loos in it.
or replace it. it sould work.

If say you are in a house that has 4 phones in different rooms and you answer a incoming call but its a fax. You can press 9* from your phone and the 5100 will detect it and start to receive (RX) then you can hang up and go to the fax and you should have the received fax. However in practice it hardly ever works. Some of the wiring in houses and offices is just not perfect for this operation to work. try it an see. Have fun. lol

Yes you can no longer download the manual from samsung. All you need to do is load paper in the rear. Lay a fax you want to send face down top first under the operation panel. dial the fax number and press start. As long as it says fax after the date and time then it should answer after 2 rings.If you want the manual then email me on [email protected] and i will zip it and send it to you.that address is just a rubbish one i use for dodgy sites so will look at it for a few days for you.

Go to the Samsung web site and find their support section. You'll usually find software for your machine.

The toner empty condition resets by a little glass fuse on the cartridge. First check and be sure that you toners have a fuses. If you insert a new cartridge the fax blows this fuse (mark that happens only once) . Buy yourself only fuses (25mm / 0,063 A or 0,1 A) and mount it on the one of your cartridges.
DO NOT turn off the power of the fax to avoid loss of information.

When we are speaking about faxes you have to try at least a few numbers, because there is sometimes a temporary problems with tel line speed. To send or receive the fax the tel line should be stable. Fax machine try to connect to highest speed (33,6 by default) and if the line is not stable you will receive connection error.
Try again but tomorrow or ask yout telephone company if there is a problem with line
