SVA PLASMA TV
I got this same tv from a guy in my area he would press the poewer botton on the tv and the standby light comes on and then turns off, so he gave me the tv for free i took the back panel off, and everytime i press the power botton the green light came on where the screen board is and went back off after i let the botton go i took the power board out took it to a repair shop to see if there was anything a wrong with it everything was good so i replaced the two fuses on the board and the one on the screen board, i had a feeling about the power switch so i jumped the wires on the switch purple to purple and green to green, I put it back together pluged it in the standby light came and stays on now, so i went out and got a universal remote for the sva at walmart for $15 programed it and pressto the tv works perfect so three fuses $3.60 two small pieces of wire and ele tape $0 my time 35 mins = one working plasma for $3.60 so when you have this problem like everyone else check the power botton switch, there cheap and check the fuses theres only three and if that dont work idk what to tell ya. and you do need a remote or tv wont work.

I cant get the tv on...a red light comes on but it
The TV may simply be stuck in standby, the remote control will be required to get it started if there are no front panel controls. If there are front panel controls then the panel lock may be on. The remote is needed.

When plugged in, TV goes on and then goes off
This has nothing to do with the power cord, the fault is internal.
This is what happens: a part inside your tv has failed; when the tv is started the first thing that gets powered is the power source; when it reaches working order it starts to deliver the power to the other components, including the failed one; that failed one now acts as a short so the current thru it gets much larger than it should; this huge increase in current is detected by the safety system of the power source which gets triggered in emergency mode and shuts down the power source by force.
Normally the tv's processor would be powered long enough to detect itself the damaged part and generate a fault code - the status light should blink. If this doesn't happens it means that the fault is massive and affects directly the power source. Because of that the tv must be opened and tested, starting with the power source. The first step is something that you could do yourself, just follow this

If, after that, you are still in the same situation, it's clear that another components were also damaged. From now on only an experienced repairman can do the diagnose, you will have to call one.

I weeould like this manuel
Most major manufacturers supply manuals
online so if you were to log on to the manufacturer's web site, you
may be pleasantly surprised as usually, if available, one is able to
download, by model number, Customer
Instruction Manuals, Dealer
Network for spare part supplies as
required.
The information is normally free of
charge.
I hope this helps.
