Nordictrack Commercial 1500 treadmill w/working display BUT unresponsive buttons
Sounds like a cable harness is undone. The cable feeding the panel which has the computer inside (the power feed) is connected, but the cable from the panel back to the motorized parts isn't. The breakaway is a separate circuit that cuts all power to everything. These are my assumptions (I'm not a nordic track expert), but it's a pretty safe bet, likely the connector in the bottom section. Okay, I just looked it up, first Google "nordictrack 1500 manual" one of the first links is a PDF, with a complete parts breakdown. Depending on your specific model, it looks like there is a connector under the top panel where it meets the right post (and a couple of screws will let you lift it up to check it). It may be partially unplugged, check that first since it looks pretty easy to check.
But I think it's going to be in the bottom, in the bottom of the treadmill the wiring splits to different sections. The motor/incline controller cable (a separate cable #106 on one model I looked up, something like NTL09707 or similar) is probably the one that is either broken or unplugged. So although the computer (up top) is sending signals, they aren't reaching where they need to. Anyway, get that manual, and someone handy with screwdrivers and technology, and they should have it figured out quickly.

All electronics should have a surge protector. So when the power flickers and send a power surge to electronic plugged into the wall the circuit board is protected like your computer.

see my personal TIPS specially block diagram, if you will see the fuse for every treadmills.2) Reset the c.breaker too.3) Reset the c.breaker from your house outlet wall.4) Test the power cord for wires, break, loose, or burn and repair.5) Test the power switch, for open or shor. see the diagram attached.sincerely. Nordic track treadmill stuck on highest speed
Adjusting the speed sensor:If the calibration does not pass you may need to check the speed sensoralignment.1) Remove the motor cover hood by loosening the 4 screws that hold it inplace (you do not need toremove them completely).2) The speed sensor is located on the left side of the frame, right nextto the front roller pulley (thepulley will have a belt around it that also goes to the motor). Thespeed sensor is small and blackwith a wire connected to it.3) Make sure the sensor is as close as possible to the pulley withouttouching it. You will see a magneton the face of the pulley; make sure the sensor is aligned with themagnet. There is a screw thatholds the sensor in place that needs to be loosened to adjust thesensor.
