Some DVD players may display a Check Disc error. Use a soft cloth to clean the disc; the disc may have fingerprints or smudges. Need a replacement cord for edbc011 ..where can i find

Power cord is not a critical component to select. Just select one of good quality. That is all. You can buy it from most of the electronics spare part selling shops at your town. Keep the old power cord with you as a sample. If you have no power cord at all, just go with the player, to select a suitable power cord.

How to plug the blu-ray into the tv

It depends on the TV inputs. You will need to provide your own cables for most connections. If your TV has an HDMI in, get an HDMI M/M cable of an appropriate length. (Use an online shop for better prices.) This will provide the best picture. (If you have a sound system with HDMI ports, you may be able to go EDBC011 HDMI out to the sound systems HDMI in. Then the sound system HDMI out to the TV HDMI in.) If the TV has a DVI port, get an HDMI to DVI cable (again M/M). For this option, you will also need to connect the audio cable (see below in the composite or component video section).

Alternatively, this Blu-ray player has component and composite video out ports. Note: composite video is limited to SD. For these, you will have to connect the audio cables (RCA l/r audio or digital audio out). The composite video cable is included with the blu-ray player when new. For these, match the colors of the jacks to the wires to make sure that you have them correctly connected. You can put the audio cables to your sound system or your TV, as appropriate for your setup. For some TVs, you may need a RCA audio to 3.5 mm cable (all male ends) or adapter (for example RCA F/F to 3.5 mm M with an RCA audio cable or 3.5 mm F to RCA M/M with a 3.5 mm audio patch cable) . This applies for units with only the PC audio in.

Make the connections with the TV and the video player off (turn off the audio system if you are including that set of wiring). Then turn on the TV and set it to the desired input (use the Input/Source button on your remote or TV). Turn on the audio system (if using one) and blu-ray player.

If you have problems, first try different cables. Try other input connections and try different devices. It's possible for either the TV or the blu-ray player input/output jacks or boards were damaged.

The manual for the EDBC011 is available here: http://www.elementelectronics.com/support_docs/edbco11/edbco11_manual.pdf .

I hope this helps.

Hi Carol,
Check the terminal where the battery inserted for corrosion. Using the smooth sandpaper or blade gently scratch the terminal to erased the corroded part. After that re-insert the battery again (ensure the right polarity of the battery while inserting) and to confirm if the remote is functioning click this link for more info http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tlTIrVQjaY8. Let me know if you need further assistance.
Hope I helped you.

Blue ray player says needs update?

Hello,

to update your player, go to the website of your player's manufacturer, (e.g, www.samsung.com, if samsung is the manufacturer of your player).

Once the site opens, go to or click software on the page, and download software update on you your PC, then burn the downloaded software into an empty disc and insert it into your player, then your player will automatically to the update from the CD.

Or, if your player has a USB, copy the downloaded software into a usb flash drive, then fix it into your player and press usb from your remote.

I hope you know how to update your player now.

Good luck.

Element EDBCO11 + Avatar = problem

Avatar bluray disc uses some super-new technique for copy-protection, which many players don't support yet. If you already upgraded to the latest firmware, you can only contact your dealer and ask them - or wait for even newer firmware.

I recently purchased a Blu-Ray Disc Player from

I had the same problem with the blu-ray player and fixed it with the downloaded files. When you download the files they come in a folder called 'firmware_update'. Did you make sure you only put the 16 files that are inside this folder onto the CD and not the whole folder? It won't work if you add the whole folder. The update on the blue-ray player takes up to 15 minutes. You have to be patient.
Hope this helps:-)

Element ELDFT406 shuts off by itself every 10-60 minutes

Ok, I am having the same issue. I just bought my tv - same model at the Target Black Friday sale. Can I ask, did yours make a low humming noise before you changed it out. I still am within my 30 day exchange policy, so I am thinking it would be wiser just to exchange it... but my concern is, would I get one with the same problem (or worse) in exchange?

Can't connect to Netflix with my Element smart TV

Where your Smart TV already has an app in its app pages, start that app, log onto your Netflix account (which you need to pay for) and watch away. If your TV does not have a Netflix app, give Player a try at http://www.Playora.com - this is an app that runs on a PC and lets you open content on the screen of the PC and toss it to a lot of different Smart TVs (Samsung, Panasonic, LG, Sony, JVC, etc.). When i unplugged the cable hdmi and plugged it back in the tv turned off. Now everytime i plug in the hdmi cord the tv turns off.

Some sets and devices have HDMI control that can turn off and on devices connected to them. Look into the settings of both devices and search for anything to do with HDMI control.

Fault with its main board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ . In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced.
