Janome MyLock 634D Mechanical Sewing Machine - Page 2 - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Why does the right needle keep breaking in myloc 634d
I agree with John Smeed It could be that the needle is bent or in the wrong way if it keeps on breaking it must be hitting the throat plate or it's timing may be out( a pro job) Also check the needle is in as high as it can go.
Why wont my overlock cut
probably because the blades are blunt and out of adjustment. They are only mechanical scissors that rub each other and like ordinary scissor they become blunt. Most shops the sell or service overlockers will have replacement blades for your machine.
Hesitates then speeds
Short answer, no. None of the overlockers have a speed half speed, most sew at 1500 stitches per minute which does take a little time to get used to.
Thread breaking
adjust the thread tension of the one that is breaking. If it is the needle the adjust will be in front of you . If it is the bobbin then there will be a small screw holding a flat spring that the thread goes under. Have you put the bobbin in the holder correctly as it is critical the way the thread un winds from the bobbin.

It may be rusted or a looper may be bent. Take it into a sewing machine dealer for service/repair.
How to thread the overlocker My lock 134
Look in the instruction book, or on the threading diagram printed on the machine. You will see it when you open the panel on the right (the door that swings down when you thread the serger).
MyLock 134D coverstitch?
While the ML134D is a very good entry level overlocker/serger, for coverstitch you will need a different or dedicated machine.
Janome has recently introduced a new model that is a combined Professional Coverstitch/Overlocker it is model
1200 D (Link) and is truly amazing in the diversity of stitch options
Their other coverstitch only machines are the CoverPro 900 & 1000

The maintenance and repair are recommended every year at a sewing center.
Adjusting tension on overlocker
overlockers and sergers are annoying in that every time you change materials and threads they must be re-tensioned. Get a scrap piece of material. Thread your machine correctly according to the instructions in your manual. If no manual most sergers are threaded, upper looper, lower looper then needles from right to left. Make sure you thread with the presser foot UP. You want to balance the stitches Begin by adjusting the looper dials, you want them to meet right at the cut edge. Then adjust your needles. Keep doing test seams until you have them balanced. If you are a novice... try threading with each thread point having it's own color. That will help you identify which thread is giving you fits. Have fun.
