Janome MyLock 634D Mechanical Sewing Machine - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

It is impossible for a looper to come unthreaded if you are holding one end and the other is still feeding off the spool. Somewhere a thread broke - must be either the upper looper or the needle. Try completely re-threading your machine. Many machines have an "order" they prefer to be threaded. Try starting from the right tension guide and work to the left.

I think I would get another opinion. Sometimes you run across lazy technicians or those who would like to talk you into buying a new machine. Of course, if your machine is older, it could be difficult to locate replacement parts, but getting that info from another technician will confirm the first opinion.

Ooh, I've heard it is difficult timing a serger because there's more involved than a sewing machine.

You can try looking at videos and web sites:

serger timing Google Search

Do you not have your instruction book? It will have the instructions in it. Often there is also a diagram on the front cover flap of the machine. How far away from any sewing machine dealer are you? They should be able to show you how to thread at no cost.Let me kNow how you go.

At this stage, the value is whatever the market will bear. Their is no real value in 2nd hand sewing machines or overlockers. Try looking on ebay for some guidance. Good luck

Im not familiar with the huskylock but I use woolly thread on both loopers with good tension and less than a medium length on the needle stitch and using the differential feed. Try u tube as there are several good links for sewing stretch.

Is something jammed? Does it move at all? Pull out the threads and check all tensions for a blockage. Does it move at all when not threaded?

Here is a manual - http://ifixmachines.com/Janome-Model-634D/View-all-products.html

The thread guide should be inside the door.

Lift the antenna and presser foot. Turn the tensions to zero, if possible.

Turn the handwheel so the upper looper is at the highest point - there may be a mark on the side of the serger to align with a mark on the handwheel.

Begin threading from the right to the left, beginning with the lower looper.

Ok,... before you re-thread the loopers, always unthread the needles.Thread the needles last.

The needles required will be listed in your manual, if you don't have a manual then buy any needles recommended for sergers/overlockers. Or check on the Janome website.

I agree with John Smeed It could be that the needle is bent or in the wrong way if it keeps on breaking it must be hitting the throat plate or it's timing may be out( a pro job) Also check the needle is in as high as it can go.
