The tv power supply board it is dead 100% it is dead that board where the tv power a/c plug into it.Sometimes u get a burn or a chart coal marks if the power surge have big enough charges to the board,not it still kills board too because electromagnatic charges of the storm kills every electronic parts in came in contact with.Take the tv aparts.The tv power supply board are alway the one these two boards are the causes alway and the first board to dies .Replaced the tv power supply board first.Tv should work now,if not the main tv Tuner signal board it is also dead too.That the board where the incomming broadcasting signal wire plug into it.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement first and also the main tv Tuner signal board too,if necessary.70-80% changes the power supply board and necessary the main tv Tuner signal boad too tv should work again.20% sometimes the whole tv it fries and a total lost.

THE CAUSE IS LCD PANEL IN BAD CONDITION OR T CON BOARD IN BAD CONDITION THE T CON BOARD IS CHEAP THE PANEL IS VERY EXPENSIVE, TH T CON MAY BE COLD SOLDURE IN THE PROCESOR.

It is plug and play. Are you getting 5 or 12vdc feeding the IR PCB assembly?
You need a scope to look for output pulses coming out of the IR board when it receiving the signal from the remote controller.

1) Test the remote:
The remote control puts out IR (InfraRed) signal that human eyes cannot see, to find out if the remote is sending out the signal or not you just point the remote at the digital camera's Lens (Digital Camera can detect IR), you should see flashing light on the camera's screen when any one of the remote button is pushed. If you do see the flashing on the camera, then the problem is in the TV IR receiver or the main logic board; more troubleshooting with scope will be needed to look at the signals.

2) If the remote checked out OK, then look at the back of the TV for the "REMOTE INPUT", use a mini-phone plug and insert the plug ino the remote input jack in and out a couple times to clean the switch contacts that select between the front IR receiver of the TV or the rear panel IR input jacks.

It's a common problem with this model. You must change the IR board. This is very easy to do. Remove the back panel of the tv and unscrew/unplug the original board located where the power button, volume/channel, etc is and plug the new one. I bought my IR at Ebay, but sadly have to say that it was not working. Watch out these bargains, :-(
