My bike won't even try and turn over

I have only had the bike for about a month and it has always had a problem with it randomly not starting. It would struggle starting, like what it feels like when your battery is about to go dead. One day it started fine, I drove it to the store and when I came out it finally stopped for good. I have replaced the battery but it still won't even try and crank up. Can you help?

The main problem with any bike that is not used on a daily basis is damp. This causes a number of problems .The main problem is corrosion . Brass electrical fitting get a greenish corrosion which is very much like you find on a battery terminal this causes bad earthing and electrical problems .A good earth on the frame from the battery is a must and plenty of W/D 40 or similar will normally help stop corrosion build up .Check all connectors are clean and free from corrosion build up .

If hitting the starter doesn't do the trick, open the bracket where the starter and the on/off switch are and clean the contact surfaces and check for loose wires. Also check the conectors on the starter relay, they may be dirty or loose.

If it has a rev sensor it may be faulty. They can kill all the power to the engine. cheers.

Lent my 2011 triumph daytona 675r to a friend and he ran the bike out of fuel and now the bike won't start. The bike will turn over fine and sometimes even sputter but won't accually fire up....

it sounds like some dirt has got into the injectors. these will need to be cleaned out. if you can keep trying it and give it some high revs this may run it through. hope this helps.

As this point you can't get the bike to turn over is this correct? If the engine is turning over but won't start then yes the gas is most likely the problem. Gas after sitting for even a month can evaporate from the fuel system and it leave a fouls smelling deposit behind that clogs up everything. It stinks and it's a mess to clean out. To prevent this from happening use a product that is called "Fuel Stabilizer" in the last few tanks of gas before you put the bike away for the winter or a dormant period. If the motorcycle is in a hot climate or heated garage this foul smelling gas can happen within a few weeks.
